Over the last few decades, BDS has built a solid reputation for quality and performance offering lift kits and accessories backed by a no fine print warranty. From 2" to 8" lift heights, leaf springs to 4-link conversions, and FOX coil-overs, the BDS brand has been continually evolving to meet the demands of the aftermarket. As those demands change from trail riding and rock crawling to overlanding and high-speed desert the products offered will continue to cater to those needs. While that doesn't mean giving up on the traditional 4-6" lift kits that are the bread and butter, you will see more performance-driven products coming to market like coil-over conversions, premium shock options like the aluminum FOX 2.5 Performance Elite (PE) series shocks for more applications, and well, special projects like this...

More than a year in the making, the BDS engineering team saw a need in the market for more high-speed offroad performance suspension options. Alongside the shock experts at FOX, the BDS team has pushed the envelope to design, torture test, and ultimately validate a new 3" Velocity Series long travel IFS system for the late model Chevy/GMC 1500 trucks.
With SEMA here, it seemed like the right time to show what they had up their sleeve and debut Project Velocity, a late model Chevy Silverado 1500 outfitted with the 3" Velocity Series long travel system, rear trailing arms, and FOX 3.0 Factory Race Series coilovers at each corner with clearance for 37s. Designed as a complete solution for late-model GM1500 trucks, this kit will be offered in multiple configurations. The setup bolsters 3" increased front track width per side, with up to 14.5" front wheel travel and 15.5" vertical rear wheel travel (18" articulated). Built to tackle the desert while offering plush on-road comfort, the team at BDS is expecting mid-late 2023 to be shipping production kits.
For more on this Project Velocity check out the videos and spec sheet attached. BDS will have the truck out at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas from Nov. 1-4, in the FOX Factory booth #81298 (in front of the central hall, on the backside of eBay Motors Experience, formerly Ford Out Front). Stop by and check it out with the other killer builds on display.

Price points for the kits?
We haven’t released pricing on the GM long travel kits quite yet at this was an early reveal for product we have coming out mid-year. We’ll have multiple options/configuratinos available. Keep an eye out for pricing info to be available closer to the release
Do you have a release date yet?
Thx
Matt
Still a few variables we’re dialing on on the production side, but expect to see kits begin shipping Summer 2023. We’ll have more info out as the release approaches
Does BDS plan to offer this velocity lift for other body styles in GM’s lineup? I have a 15’ high country I’d let you borrow for a few months if you need a ginny pig!
We’re starting off with the 2019+ GM1500 trucks, but do have additional kits in the works. Still a little early to talk about those at this point
What year GM’s will this be available for? I have a 2010 Silverado that I would love to upgrade.
At this point the focus is on the 2019+ GM1500 trucks, but we’ll be expanding coverage in the future
Will this kit allow for stock wheels (backspacing 5.77) ?
Hey Charles, it’s still a bit early to get into all the specs with this particular kit, but it will allow for the stock wheel/tire combo to be re-installed
Will this kit be compatible and or can I take some parts out of it for my ZR2 Silverado? Like the CV’s and Tierods
The long travel kit will replace the bulk of the front suspension components, UCAs, LCAs, coilovers, steering tie rods, CVs, bump stops, etc
Really need this on out SEMA 2023 build wide body 2 door full size “Blazer” with Fiberwerx wide body, supercharger and carbon fiber removable roof. It’s even more cool than our 2022 Jimmy we unveiled last year.
any updates on the pricing for the rear 5link ?
Are pre order kits going to be available soon?
Any updates on this kit?
This kit is currently on hold, we’ll have updates in the coming months.
