BDS 8″ 4-Link Long Arm Lift Kit & Accessories

2013-2014 Dodge Ram 1-ton 4WD Trucks

Coldwater, MI—December 1, 2014— BDS Suspension continues to lead the industry with new and innovative products for the late model RAM 2500/3500 4WD trucks. After more than a year of development and testing BDS is excited to announce the release of complete 8″ 4-Link Conversion Long Arm Systems for the 2013-2014 RAM 3500 4WD diesel trucks. These new systems offer premium on-road comfort and superior offroad capability for the best all around performance out of your new 1-ton RAM.

As with the widely popular BDS 4″ and 6″ 4-link conversion systems for late model RAM, this new 8″ system converts the factory radius arm suspension to a true 4-link for improved stability, wheel travel, and handling across all terrains. The 4-link design limits caster change to less than 1-degree of change throughout wheel travel for better handling, steering control, and overall driveability. The heart of the system are a pair of massive frame-mounted brackets precision welded and engineered to position the new upper and lower control arms for optimal suspension geometry for late model RAM trucks. The 4-link brackets are fabricated from 1/4″ thick steel and wrap around the frame as well as the factory radius arm brackets to create an extremely sturdy mount for the new arms. Removal of the factory radius arm brackets is not required allowing the brackets to stay intact to speed up the installation time. The upper and lower control arms are built from 2″ OD x 3/16″ wall DOM tubing for the strength to take any abuse you can throw at them. They utilize large 2.5″ OD polyurethane bushings to isolate road vibrations and are formed inward to allow for extra tire clearance while repositioning the front axle slightly forward for increase tire clearance to the backside of the front fenders when turned. These arms are finished in a durable textured black powder coating and use grease fittings for easy servicing.

The additional height comes from a pair of specially designed dual rate ProRide coil springs. These 8″ coils have been engineered and tested to improve the ride quality and performance across all terrains while holding up to the rigors that 1-ton truck owners demand without bowing or sagging over time. A heavy duty track bar relocation bracket is supplied to recenter the front axle once lifted and a forged drop pitman arm is used to correct steering angles to keep them in phase for proper handling. New extended sway bar links are included to correct the front sway bar operating angle. These new links are greasable via pre-installed grease fittings and feature a unique poly-flex ball design to provide bind-free operation. Extended front bump stops are included to limit suspension compression and braided stainless steel kevlar-lined extended front brake lines allow full droop of the suspension. Rounding out the front are your choice of specially valved BDS-5500 or Fox 2.0 performance gas shocks for a smooth ride across any terrain.

At 8″ of lift, transmission/transfer case relocation is required to allow front driveshaft functionality. BDS includes a new laser cut transmission crossmember and adjustable transmission mounting plate to increase clearance front driveline clearance. The transfer case is repositioned by way of a supplied indexing ring kit to correct the operating angle and a billet aluminum driveshaft spacer is supplied to allow the use of the factory driveshafts. Indexing rings are available for both 6-bolt and 8-bolt transmission equipped trucks, confirm transmission before ordering.

In the rear, a new leaf spring/block combo is supplied to optimize ride quality and maximize wheel travel. This is accomplished with an exclusive triple-stage leaf spring design where the main leaf pack is broken into 2 stages. The primary 3 leafs are functional with no additional load in the vehicle for excellent everyday ride quality. As moderate loads are applied the secondary leafs are engaged. Lastly, if the truck is fully loaded, the bottom overload is engaged for maximum hauling capacity. This setup allows your RAM 3500 to maintain ride quality unloaded without sacrificing payload. In addition to the new leaf spring leaf design, the rear system integrates a 2″ block to achieve minimal spring arch to improve shackle functionality and maximize wheel travel. New rear u-bolts are supplied to convert the factory 14mm to larger 5/8″ diameter u-bolts and your choice of BDS-5500 or Fox 2.0 performance gas shocks complete the rear of this truck.

Available Accessories

BDS has a number of accessories available to fit the new 2013-2014 RAM 3500 trucks. Both single and dual steering stabilizer kit are available to meet your on-road and off-road performance needs. Available with 5500-series (white body), 9500-series (brushed stainless body), and Fox 2.0 (50/50-valved aluminum body) BDS steering stabilizers improve drivability by reducing front end shimmy caused by oversized tires and mount above the tie-rod for extra protection when offroad. The dual stabilizer kits mount end-to-end with an attractive BDS branded center bracket. In addition to steering stabilizers, BDS offers a heavy duty adjustable front track bar to allow you to dial in the front axle lateral positioning. Constructed from 1-3/8″ solid steel stock this new adjustable track bar is built to handle on and off-road abuse and uses a 1-3/8″-12 fine threaded pinch bolt design turnbuckle to allow easy tuning to properly recenter the front axle for a range of lift heights. The track bar is formed for proper clearance around critical front end components and features gusseted ends for additional rigidity. The ends utilize high-durometer polyurethane bushings with thick-walled steel sleeves for strength and reliability. To improve dampening capabilities BDS offers front dual shock mounting brackets. The upper hoop ties into the factory coil bucket and frame rail for added rigidity and allows you run a pair of BDS-5500 or Fox 2.0 shocks at each front corner. Lastly, BDS offers rear traction bar kits to fit the new Ram 3500 trucks. Designed to eliminate axle wrap and keep the rear axle planted during hard acceleration, BDS traction bars are constructed from 1-1/4″ OD tubing and are 100% bolt-on.

Now shipping, complete 6″ 4-link conversion systems for the 2013-2014 RAM 3500 4WD trucks designed to greatly improve the ride, control, and overall performance.

As with the widely popular BDS 4-link conversion for ’05-14 Ford Super Duty trucks, this kit converts the factory radius arm suspension to a true 4-link for increased stability, wheel travel, and improved handling across all terrains. The 4-link design limits caster change to less than 1-degree of change throughout wheel travel for better handling, steering control, and overall driveability. The heart of the system are a pair of massive frame-mounted brackets precision welded and engineered to locate the new upper and lower control arms to create the optimal suspension geometry for late model RAM trucks. The 4-link brackets are fabricated from 1/4″ thick steel and wrap around the frame as well as the factory radius arm brackets to create an extremely sturdy mount for the new arms. Removal of the factory radius arm brackets is not required allow the brackets to stay intact to speed up the installation time and make these kits reversible. The upper and lower control arms are built from 2″ OD x 3/16″ wall DOM tubing for the strength to take any abuse you can throw at them. They utilize large 2.5″ OD polyurethane bushings to isolate road vibrations and are formed inward to allow for extra tire clearance while repositioning the front axle slightly forward for increase tire clearance to the backside of the front fenders when turned. These arms are finished in a durable textured black powder coating and use grease fittings for easy servicing.

The additional height comes from a pair of specially designed progressive rate ProRide coil springs. The 6″ coils have been engineered and tested to improve the ride quality and performance across all terrains while holding up to the rigors that 1-ton truck owners demand. A heavy duty track bar relocation bracket is included to recenter the front axle once lifted as well as a forged drop pitman arm to correct steering angles. Sway bar relocation brackets are used to reposition the front sway bar assembly and the supplied brake line brackets allow for the easy adjustment for the stock lines to be reused with the lift kit.

With the redesigned front end of these trucks, the 6″ lift requires transmission/transfer case relocation components to allow the front driveshaft to function properly. BDS includes a new laser cut transmission crossmember and adjustable transmission mounting plate to increase clearance. The transfer case is repositioned by way of a supplied indexing ring kit to correct the operating angle of the front driveshaft. (indexing ring available for both 6-bolt and 8-bolt transmissions)

The rear of the truck is lifted via a 5″ block and u-bolt system which provides a level-to-slightly tail high stance. The kit includes your choice of BDS-5500 hydraulic or Fox 2.0 performance shocks to offer a great ride and improved dampening performance. Allowing 37″ tires to be installed, this new 6″ 4-link conversion system is designed to be complete and offer impressive on-road ride quality and off-road capability.

Available Accessories

BDS has a number of accessories available to fit the new 2013-2014 RAM 3500 trucks. Both single and dual steering stabilizer kit are available to meet your on-road and off-road performance needs. Available in 5500-series (white body), 9500-series (brushed stainless body) and Fox 2.0-series, the stabilizers improve drivability by reducing front end shimmy caused by oversized tires and mount above the tie-rod for extra protection when offroad. Stabilizers are available as both an OE replacement single stabilizer and dual kit mounting end-to-end.

BDS also offers a dual front shock hoop kit for a great look and increased dampening capabilities. These hoops are fabricated from 1.75″ x .188″ DOM tubing and reinforced to mount 2 shock (5500-series or Fox 2.0).

BDS offers a heavy duty adjustable front track bar to allow you to dial in the the front axle positioning. Constructed from 1-3/8″ solid steel stock this new adjustable track bar is built to handle on and off-road abuse and uses a 1-3/8″-12 fine threaded pinch bolt design turnbuckle to allow easy tuning to properly recenter the front axle for a range of lift heights. The track bar is formed for proper clearance around critical front end components and features gusseted ends for additional rigidity. The ends utilize high-durometer polyurethane bushings with thick-walled steel sleeves for strength and reliability.

Lastly, BDS offers rear traction bar kits to fit the 2013-2014 Ram 3500 trucks. Designed to eliminate axle wrap and keep the rear axle planted during hard acceleration, BDS traction bars are constructed from 1-1/4″ OD tubing and are 100% bolt-on.

This new 6″ lift system uses a pair of 1/4″ thick steel radius arm relocation brackets to reposition the factory radius arms and correct suspension geometry and caster at 6″ of lift. These brackets are designed for quick installation and create a stout mounting location for the radius arms by tying into both the factory radius arm frame mount and the side of the frame rails.

In addition to their existing lift and leveling kit options, BDS is excited to announce the release of a 4″ 4-link conversion kit to dramatically improve the ride quality and performance of late model 2013+ RAM 3500 4WD trucks equipped with factory front radius arms and rear leaf springs.

As with the widely popular BDS 4-link conversion for ’05-14 Ford Super Duty trucks, this kit converts the factory radius arm suspension to a true 4-link for increased stability, wheel travel, and improved handling across all terrains. The coils have been engineered and tested to improve the ride quality and performance across all terrains while holding up to the rigors that 1-ton truck owners demand. Due to the unique factory coil mount design on the new radius arm equipped trucks, BDS has developed left and right side-specific coils to improve performance and eliminate coil bowing. Also up front, a heavy duty fabricated front track bar bracket to recenter the front axle as well as a forged drop pitman arm and black e-coated brake line relocation hardware are included to reposition all steering and brake components.

In the rear, a 2″ tapered block kit is used along with black e-coated u-bolts to level the stance and allow for up to 37″ tires. Your choice of vehicle specific BDS-5500 hydraulic or Fox 2.0 performance gas shocks are used at all 4 corners to improve dampening performance on the late model 2013 Ram 1-Tons.

SEMA Trucks: Seaside’s No Limitz Super Duty

Each year the SEMA Show is flooded with amazing automobiles, lifted trucks, lower street rods, resto-mod classics and late model monsters all in the name of automotive customization. There’s something for everyone’s taste from the insane over-the-top to capable daily drivers. BDS Suspension attends this annual show out in Las Vegas and continues to make quite the statement with show vehicles scattered throughout the show grounds on display in exhibitor booths and featured vehicle spots.

One of the trucks that was hard to miss out at the 2013 SEMA Show was this black/lime green 2012 Ford F250 Super Duty owned by Tim and Danielle Wing of Seaside Muffler & Off-Road in Seaside, OR. The project was dubbed No Limitz” and features a ton of cool aftermarket products.

Sticking with the factory tuxedo black paint, the stock bumpers were swapped out for a set of colormatched Road Armors that house an assortment of Rigid LED lights. Recon smoke projection CCFL headlights and a Rigid LED grill with 30” lightbar to illuminate the road. Up top a 50” Rigid E-Series lightbar is mounted using  SoCal Super Trucks mounts. For the extra altitude, Seaside turned to BDS Suspension going with an 8” 4-link long arm kit with dual shock hoop and Fox 2.0 shocks. A set of custom build traction bar were fabbed up and everything was powdercoated with a 2 stage shocker yellow over heavy silver color. Mag Hytec diff/tranny covers and a BDS dual steering stabilizer round out the underside of this truck. For wheels and tires, 37×13.50×22 Toyo M/Ts where mounted up on 22×14 American Force Evade 8s which also received a touch of the green. With the lift installed, a set of Amp Research steps were installed for a clean out of the way appearance and easy accessibility into the truck. The interior was kept fairly stock and features black leather seats, upgraded stereo and an H&S gauge display. Out back the truck is running BDS 8” full springs and Fox 2.0 shocks. The bed is stray-lined and has an Extang E-Max flex tonneau cover, Amp Bed Step and Bed XTender. Turning those 37s the 6.7L Powerstroke got some attention in the form of an AirAid intake, H&S Mini Maxx tuner, and Flo Pro 5” stainless steel exhaust kit. 2013 Dodge Ram 1-ton 4WD & 2014 Dodge Ram 3/4-ton 4wd

Coldwater, MI—December 4, 2013— BDS Suspension leads the industry with new and innovative suspension products for the redesigned 2013 Ram 3500 and 2014 Ram 2500 trucks. In addition to the current suspension lifts and leveling kit options the engineers at BDS Suspension have developed new steering stabilizer kits as well as a heavy duty adjustable track bar to improve the performance of these late model RAM HD applications.

BDS offers single and dual steering stabilizers to meet your on-road and off-road performance needs. Available in both 5500-series (white body) and 9500-series (brushed stainless body) the stabilizers improve drivability by reducing front end shimmy caused by oversized tires. Stabilizers use a twin tube hydraulic design, with 5/8″ hardened chrome shaft and polyurethane bushings. BDS single stabilizer kits mount in place of the OE stabilizer for quick and easy installation to improve handling performance.

BDS dual steering stabilizers are available with your choice of 5500-series, 9500-series, or Fox 2.0 stabilizers all vastly improving the handling performance of late model Ram 2500/3500 trucks with oversized tires. These new dual stabilizer kits feature an end-to-end design built off of a 3/16″ thick axle mounted center bracket and pair of tie rod mounted outer brackets. The kit mounts above the tie rod for optimal ground clearance while keeping stabilizer out of harms way when off-road. Brackets use a high quality black e-coated finish with stainless steel “BDS” center nameplate for a great looking finish. Installation is a breeze with bolt-on design easy to follow instructions.

BDS offers a heavy duty replacement adjustable front track bar for late model radius arm Ram HDs. Constructed from 1-3/8″ solid steel stock this new adjustable track bar is built to handle on and off-road abuse and uses a 1-3/8″-12 fine threaded pinch bolt design turnbuckle to allow easy tuning to properly recenter the front axle for a range of lift heights. The track bar is formed for proper clearance around critical front end components and features gusseted ends for additional rigidity. The ends utilize high-durometer polyurethane bushings with thick-walled steel sleeves for strength and reliability. Parts come with a high quality black e-coated finish for a great look and excellent corrosion resistance. Requires 4″ of lift or more to be installed.
