We’ll admit it, we’re obsessed with it. Dreamt up by the masterminds at Seaside Muffler & Offroad this gorgeous 2012 RAM 3500 commands respect for the craftsmanship and is a show stopper every time it goes out. Dubbed Project “Obsessed”, Tim and Danielle Wing put their heart and soul into this build transforming this run of the mill Megacab RAM into the monster it is today within a short 2-month timeline to debut it at the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Using a clean silver/purple color scheme throughout the build this truck has several styling and performance upgrades including Road Armor stealth bumpers, Royalty Core grille, Plain N Simple headlights and a plethora of tastefully installed Rigid LEDs in the bumper, headlights, and up on the windshield. The new stance comes from BDS Suspension with the purple powder coated 8” Performance Coilover Long Arm System modified up to 12” of lift for ample clearance for the 40×15.50×24 Toyo M/Ts mounted up on 24×14 American Force Thors. The suspension features Fox 2.5 remote coilovers adjusted up to 12” of lift, 4-link long arms, BDS adjustable track bar, BDS dual steering stabilizer, BDS rear leafs + blocks, BDS traction bars, and dual rear Fox 2.0 shocks. AVS flares and were added to the fenders along with Amp Research powersteps to ease cab access in this RAM. Inside the factory black leather and wood trimmed dash have Recon LEDs and touch screen navigation. Out back a Bed Rug bedliner and Lund tonneau cover, Recon/Plain N Simple taillights, Road Armor rear bumper and Rigid D2 lights were added.

Under the hood the stock 6.7L Cummins received an Airaid cold air intake, H&S mini maxx programmer and EGR delete, ARP 625+ head studs, and 5” Flo-Pro stainless steel exhaust for a dyno’d 495 hp and 1102 ft-lbs of torque out of the straight 6 coal burner. The stock 68RFE transmission received a Mag Hytec trans pan and the stock diff covers were upgraded to Mag Hytec units as well.

Project Trucks: Hammerhead Armor RAM

Hammerhead Armor has been in the business for a number of years, manufacturing quality bumpers and offroad armor for everything from full-size trucks to Jeep applications. Based out of Bay Springs, MS these southern boys build their products right here in USA. In an industry where most manufacturers tout their latest products on decked out company rigs, Hammerhead was in need of a new truck to use for dealer stops and display at events. After getting the green light they picked up a brand spankin’ new 2015 RAM 2500 Cummins and worked on plans to turn it into a bad ass show piece, something capable of performing up to the high standards their bumpers are built to. Initial plans called for a lift kit, larger wheels and tires, body armor, and performance mods and with that Project Armament was born.

The first step to this truck’s transformation was the body armor. A Hammerhead pre-runner front bumper was fitted along with a Warn M15000 winch and Rigid LED lighting. Out back a matching rear bumper was installed along with recessed lighting. Along with that a set of Hammerhead running boards were installed for rocker protection and easier access into the cab. With this truck spending so much time traveling around the country the guys needed a smooth ride and predictable handling so anyone could drive it with ease. To accomplish this the guys went with a BDS 6” 4-Link Conversion System with Fox shocks and dual steering stabilizer which opened up plenty of room for 37×12.50×20 Toyo R/Ts mounted up on 20×10 BMF Novakanes. Bushwacker extend-a-flares were fitted to help keep the body clean and the bed received the full line-X treatment. Up top a roof mounted 50” Rigid light bar was installed for extra trail visibility and a Trex x-metal mesh grille was fitted for a custom look. The axles were regeared to a 4.56 ratio from Nitro Grear & Axle and a new high capacity rear diff cover was installed. The stock 6.7L Cummins received attention in the form of an Edge Products juice w/ attitude cts  programmer, AFe cold air intake, AFe intercooler tubes and a MBRP exhaust system boosting the output to around 500hp and 900lb/ft of torque.

With the vinyl wrap installed this 2015 RAM 2500 is a head turner out on the street and a bad ass calling card for Hammerhead Armor. Radius Arm RAM 2500/3500 – 4-Link Conversion Kit

2014-15 Dodge RAM 2500/2013-14 Dodge RAM 3500 4wd trucks

Coldwater, MI— December 17, 2014— In addition to the 2-8″ suspension systems currently offered, BDS Suspension has released a 4-link long arm upgrade for late model RAM HD trucks. Designed to fit 2014-2015 RAM 2500 and 2013-2014 RAM 3500 4WD trucks this 4-link conversion improves drivability and control across all terrains on road and off. This kit allows late model radius arm equipped RAMs running 4-8″ of lift to convert over to the BDS 4-link long arm for added strength and more consistent caster throughout wheel travel for improved handling.

The kit includes all the necessary components to replace the factory (or aftermarket) radius arm setup to a 4-link design. The heart of the 4-link upgrade is a pair of massive frame-mounted brackets precision welded and engineered to position the new upper and lower control arms for optimal suspension geometry on late model RAM HD trucks. The 4-link brackets are fabricated from 1/4″ thick steel and wrap around the frame as well as key off the factory radius arm brackets to create an extremely sturdy mount for the new arms. Removal of the factory radius arm brackets is not required allowing the brackets to stay intact to speed up the installation time. The frame mounts are finished in a durable textured black powder coating and badged with a stainless steel BDS nameplate. 

The upper and lower control arms are built from 2″ OD x 3/16″ wall DOM tubing for the strength to take any abuse you can throw at them. They utilize large 2.5″ OD polyurethane bushings to isolate road vibrations and are formed inward to allow for extra tire clearance while repositioning the front axle slightly forward for increase tire clearance to the backside of the front fenders to improve clearance when turning. These arms are finished in a durable textured black powder coating and use grease fittings for easy servicing. Combined with your current 4-8″ lift, this new 4-link conversion system is designed to improve your late model RAM HDs overall performance, comfort and driveability.

Coldwater, MI— November 25, 2014— Along with the announcement of 6” coilover conversion long arm systems, BDS is excited to announce new 8″ coilover conversion long arm systems now available for the 2003-2013 Dodge Ram 2500 trucks. With the popularity of Fox coilover options for many 1/2-ton applications the engineers at BDS and Fox have teamed up to develop a new coilover options designed specifically for the 3/4-ton & 1-ton RAM diesel trucks. After more than a year in development we are excited to announce BDS is now shipping complete 8″ coilover conversion long arm systems and 8″ coilover upgrade kits designed to take your RAM to the next level in the dirt and on the street. These new kits are designed to improve vehicle performance across all terrains, allow you to soak up the high-speed bumps with ease and out flex the competition while offering smooth on-road ride quality and predictable handling characteristics.

These new systems are designed around the tried and true BDS long arm system, feature a pair of massive subframe 4-link control arm brackets and oversized upper and lower formed long arms for improved stability, handling and overall performance. The arms are formed for maximum tire clearance and allow the stock control arm tabs to remain on the vehicle. The upper arms are solid stock while the heavy wall tubular lower arms utilize oversized greaseable polyurethane bushings for superior road vibration isolation.

The extra altitude comes from a pair of specially designed Fox 2.5 remote reservoir coil overs designed for the ultimate performance right out of the box. These Fox coilovers feature:

  • Smooth-bore and honed seamless alloy body
  • Black anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum mounting components
  • 7/8″ heat treated steel carbon shaft
  • High flow piston design with specially formulated race oil
  • 3″ Eibach coil springs
  • 2.5″ smooth bore and honed seamless reservoir
  • Easy bolt-on installation, coil spring preload set for proper ride height right out of the box.

These coilovers are built to perform on the front of Cummins-powered RAMs and to install in place of the coil springs with the use of BDS’s new heavy duty upper and lower mounting brackets. These brackets not only create a sturdy top mount at the frame with room for the reservoir, but also include weld-in reinforcements at the axle able to continually perform under whatever abuse your RAM HD is subjected to.

These new coilover systems also address the steering with a heavy duty front track bar bracket and forged drop pitman arm to keep the steering in phase, extended sway bar links, brake line brackets, extended bump stops, your choice of rear block kit or replacement GlideRide leaf springs, brake line bracket, and Fox 2.0 rear performance gas shocks. The 8″ system also includes a indexing ring and billet aluminum driveshaft spacer to allow the use of the factory front driveline without an vibrations. As with all BDS lifts, these include Factory Protection Plus, combining BDS’s No Fine Print Warranty and 5-year 100,000-mile drivetrain protection plan for your RAM truck.

Available Accessories

For current BDS equipped Dodge Ram 2500/3500 trucks, the coilovers are also offered separately as an upgrade kit for the current coil spring equipped trucks that includes the mounting brackets and coilovers to retrofit any previously install BDS 8″ long arm system. Other accessories include BDS 5500, 9500, and Fox 2.0 steering stabilizer kits to improve dampened capability and reduce front end “shimmy” caused by oversized tires and a carrier bearing drop kit to help with rear driveline angles. BDS Lift Kits & Accessories Now available for 2015 RAM 2500 Trucks

2015 Dodge Ram 3/4-ton 4WD

Coldwater, MI—October 14, 2014— BDS Suspension has now test fit and confirmed fitment of all current suspension systems for 2015 RAM 2500 4WD trucks. With 2″, 4″, and 5.5-6″ radius arm lift kits currently available, BDS offers a variety of suspension options for late model RAM HD trucks designed to improve off-road performance while maintaining on-highway drivability.

2″ Leveling Kit: This 2″ leveling kit utilizes a pair of heavy-duty fabricated steel coil spacers to level the stance and allow for up to 35″ tires to be installed. The spacers are pitched and indexed to work with the unique coil mount design of the late model RAM HD trucks and are secured to the coil bucket to maintain proper indexing when the coil springs are unloaded. Extended polyurethane bump stops are used to control suspension compression along with your choice of 5500-series or Fox 2.0 shocks.

4″ Radius Arm Lift Kits: This kit is designed to retain the factory radius arms by relocating the frame mounting location using a pair of 1/4″ steel drop brackets to maintain suspension geometry. The drop brackets key off the factory mounts and tie into the frame for extra strength. Also included in the kit are specially designed progressive rate ProRide front coil springs offering improved performance across all terrains. A heavy duty fabricated front track bar bracket, forged drop pitman arm, extended bump stops, brake line relocation brackets and your choice of shocks round out the front suspension while in the back you have the choice of either a 2.5″ coil spacers or 2.5″ progressive rate coils to level the stance, offer a smooth ride, and help with payload when towing heavy loads. Also supplied in the kit are extended rear sway bar links, rear track bar bracket to recenter the axle and shocks. 

4” 4-link Lift Kits: This kit is designed to convert the factory radius arm over to a stronger 4-link design offering improved stability, handling and articulation. The kit is designed with 1/4″ fabricated 4-link brackets that key into the factory radius arm pockets for added strength. The 4-link design improves drivability by limited castor change to less than 1-degree throughout wheel travel. The kit includes front and rear progressive rate ProRide coil springs, front and rear heavy duty fabricated track bar brackets, forged drop pitman arm, extended bump stops, brake line relocation brackets and your choice of shocks. RAM 2500 kits use rear 2.5″ progressive rate coils, extended sway bar links, rear track bar bracket and replacement shocks. These 4″ 4-link kits will allow fitment of up to 37″ tires.

5.5-6″ Radius Arm Lift Kits: This kit is designed to retain the factory radius arms by relocating the arms using 1/4″ steel frame-mounted drop brackets to maintain suspension geometry. The kit also includes specially designed progressive rate ProRide front coil springs (5.5″ gas trucks, 6″ diesel trucks) for improved performance across all terrains. Also up front the kit includes a heavy duty fabricated front track bar bracket, forged drop pitman arm, extended bump stops, brake line relocation brackets, sway bar brackets and your choice of shocks. For diesel models, the a new low profile transmission crossmember is supplied along with indexing ring and driveshaft spacer for proper driveline clearance. Out back the RAM 2500 kits use either a 4.5″ progressive rate coils to level the stance along with extended sway bar links, rear track bar bracket and shocks. These 5.5-6″ kits allow clearance of 37″ tires.

5.5-6″ 4-link Lift Kits: This kit is designed to convert the factory radius arm over to a stronger 4-link design for improved stability, handling and articulation. These kits are designed with 1/4″ fabricated 4-link brackets to key into the factory radius arm pockets for added strength. Available Accessories

BDS is also offering a number of accessories to fit the late model RAM 2500 4WD trucks. Both single and dual steering stabilizer kit are available to meet your on-road and off-road performance needs. Available in both 5500-series (white body) and 9500-series (brushed stainless body) the stabilizers improve drivability by reducing front end shimmy caused by oversized tires and mount above the tie-rod for extra protection when offroad. In addition to steering stabilizers, BDS offers a heavy duty adjustable front track bar to allow you to dial in the the front axle positioning. Constructed from 1-3/8″ solid steel stock this new adjustable track bar is built to handle on and off-road abuse and uses a 1-3/8″-12 fine threaded pinch bolt design turnbuckle to allow easy tuning to properly recenter the front axle for a range of lift heights. The track bar is formed for proper clearance around critical front end components and features gusseted ends for additional rigidity. The ends utilize high-durometer polyurethane bushings with thick-walled steel sleeves for strength and reliability.

SEMA Trucks: Full Flex Customs Camo Cummins

Each year the SEMA Show is flooded with amazing automobiles, lifted trucks, lower street rods, resto-mod classics and late model monsters all in the name of automotive customization. There’s something for everyone’s taste from the insane over-the-top to capable daily drivers. BDS Suspension attends this annual show out in Las Vegas and continues to make quite the statement with show vehicles scattered throughout the show grounds on display in exhibitor booths and featured vehicle spots.

If you’ve seen the work that comes out of Full Flex Customs in TX you’ve seen this 2013 Ram 2500, or maybe you haven’t, after all it is wrapped in Realtree camo. Eric Billings, owner of this monster took the original concept and turned this Megacab into a show worthy hunting truck. With hundreds of hours invested, the detail of this truck must be seen in person to full appreciate.

Up front the truck sports a Road Armor stealth front bumper, Rigid duallys and a pair of Monster Hook swivel hooks . The grill was swapped out for a custom Royalty Core unit that houses a recessed 20” Rigid lightbar. Projection headlights came from Plain & Simple and were wrapped in camo and feature a Full Flex logo on the lenses. Up top a 50” Rigid light bar was wrapped in camo before getting mounted to the roof. Extra altitude comes from a 8” BDS 4-link long arm kit stretched to 10” using a pair of 2” BDS coil spacers.  The kit was powdercoated bronze and features triple front Fox 2.0 shocks and a dual 9500 steering stabilizer. A BD Diesel steering box brace was also installed to help the stock box hold up to the increased steering duties. Out back a set BDS leaf springs, blocks and Fox 2.0 shocks level the stance and give plenty of clearance for 38×13.50×24 Nitto Trail Grappler meats mounted on a set of black-camo finished 24×14 American Force Recons. The bed was spray lined and a Royalty Core headache rack was installed in the bed along with a tool box for extra storage. A Road Armor bumper was added for extra protection along with a camo’d Monster Hook and Rigid lights. The tail lights came from Plain & Simple and are wrapped in camo to match the rest of the truck. Inside the cab, the Realtree Max 5 camo is used throughout to cover the seats and interior components.

This truck is still a work in progress for Eric and being as new as the truck is, some of the upgrades weren’t available in time for SEMA. This Camo Cummins will continue being built into one bad ass Ram that steals the show anywhere it goes.
