Coldwater, MI\u2014 December 4, 2014\u2014<\/strong>\u00a0BDS Suspension continues to add to its\u00a0industry leading suspension lineup with new full rear leaf spring options now offered for the 6″ radius arm and 6″ 4-link conversion systems to fit the 2013-2014 RAM 3500 4WD diesel trucks (5.5″ kits for the gas trucks). These new full spring systems are designed to improve performance across all terrains for smooth on-road ride quality and increased payload capacities for the new 1-ton\u00a0RAM trucks.<\/p>\n

Up front, both the radius arm and 4-link systems utilize a\u00a0pair of 6″ (5.5″ for gas) progressive rate ProRide coil springs for smooth on-road comfort with progressively stiffer spring rates to handle severe off-road terrains in stride. A heavy duty track bar relocation bracket is used to recenter the front axle once lifted as well as a forged drop pitman arm to correct steering angles. Sway bar relocation brackets are used to reposition the front sway bar assembly and the supplied brake line brackets allow adjustment to retain the factory lines and speed up installation. The\u00a0transmission\/transfer case are relocated to allow front driveshaft functionality eliminate potential driveline vibrations.\u00a0This is achieved by way of a new laser cut transmission crossmember and adjustable transmission mounting plate<\/span>. The transfer case is repositioned using the\u00a0supplied indexing ring kit and a billet aluminum front driveshaft spacer is supplied to allow the reuse of\u00a0the factory driveshafts. Indexing rings are available for both 6-bolt and 8-bolt transmission equipped trucks, confirm transmission before ordering.\u00a0<\/span> In\u00a0the rear, a new leaf spring is supplied\u00a0to optimize ride quality and maximize wheel travel. This is accomplished with an exclusive triple-stage leaf spring design where the main leaf pack is broken into 2 stages. The primary 3 leafs are functional with no additional load in the vehicle for excellent everyday\u00a0ride quality. As moderate loads are applied the secondary leafs are engaged. Lastly, if the truck is fully loaded, the bottom overload is engaged for maximum hauling capacity. This setup allows your RAM 3500 to maintain ride quality unloaded without sacrificing payload. The new spring design\u00a0achieves minimal spring arch to improve shackle functionality and maximize\u00a0wheel travel.\u00a0New rear u-bolts are supplied to convert the\u00a0factory 14mm to larger 5\/8\u201d diameter u-bolts and your choice of BDS-5500 or Fox 2.0 performance gas shocks are supplied for all 4 corners of the truck.<\/p>\n

The similarities between the front radius arm and 4-link conversion systems ends there. The radius arm kit\u00a0uses\u00a0a pair of 1\/4″ thick steel radius arm relocation brackets to reposition the factory radius arms and correct suspension geometry and caster at 5.5-6″ of lift. These brackets key off the factory radius arm mount in addition to the frame rail for a stout mounting location for the radius arms. The 4-link conversion upgrades the factory radius arms to a 4-link design. Benefits include improved stability, increased wheel travel, and better handling across all terrains. The\u00a04-link design limits caster change to less than 1-degree of change throughout wheel travel for better handling, steering control, and overall driveability. Included are a\u00a0pair of massive frame-mounted brackets precision welded and engineered to locate the new upper and lower control arms to create the optimal suspension geometry for late model RAM trucks. The 4-link brackets are fabricated from 1\/4″ thick steel and wrap around the frame as well as the factory radius arm brackets to create an extremely sturdy mount for the new arms. Removal of the factory radius arm brackets is not required allowing the brackets to stay intact to speed up the installation time and make these kits reversible. The upper and lower control arms are built from 2″ OD x 3\/16″ wall DOM tubing for the strength to take any abuse you can throw at them. They utilize large 2.5″ OD polyurethane bushings to isolate road vibrations and are formed inward to allow for extra tire clearance while repositioning the front axle slightly forward for increase tire clearance to the backside of the front fenders. These arms are finished in a durable textured black powder coating and use grease fittings for easy servicing.<\/p>\n

Available Accessories<\/h2>\n

BDS has a number of accessories available to fit the new 2013-2014 RAM 3500 trucks. Both single and dual steering stabilizer kits are available to meet your on-road and off-road performance needs. Available in 5500-series (white body), 9500-series (brushed stainless body) and Fox 2.0-series (aluminum body 50\/50 gas charged), the stabilizers improve drivability by reducing front end shimmy caused by oversized tires and mount above the tie-rod for extra protection when offroad. Stabilizers are available as both an OE replacement single stabilizer and dual kit mounting end-to-end.<\/p>\n

BDS also offers a dual front shock hoop kit for a great look and increased dampening capablities. These hoops are fabricated from 1.75″ x.188″ DOM tubing and reinforced to mount 2 shock per side (5500-series or Fox 2.0).<\/p>\n

BDS offers a heavy duty adjustable front track bar to allow you to dial in the the front axle positioning. Constructed from 1-3\/8″ solid steel stock this new adjustable track bar is built to handle on and off-road abuse and uses a 1-3\/8″-12 fine threaded pinch bolt design turnbuckle to allow easy tuning to properly recenter the front axle for a range of lift heights. The track bar is formed for proper clearance around critical front end components and features gusseted ends for additional rigidity. The ends utilize high-durometer polyurethane bushings with thick-walled steel sleeves for strength and reliability.<\/p>\n

Lastly, BDS offers rear traction bar kits to fit the 2013-2014 Ram 3500 trucks. Designed to eliminate axle wrap and keep the rear axle planted during hard acceleration, BDS traction bars are constructed from 1-1\/4″ OD tubing and are 100% bolt-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
