Back on top of the box at St. Ignace!!!!<\/h1>\n

After our rough start to the season, I\u2019m glad to say that we finally had a good weekend! The weather was sunny and clear in St. Ignace for the 40th<\/sup> annual car show and mud runs. This is a very well attended event, and has been for years, the car show draws hundreds of classic and muscle cars. The mud runs also draw a good amount of trucks and spectators as well.<\/p>\n

The Big Tire Class was the largest and most competitive of the day, 12 trucks strong. We were hoping that our bad luck would turn around, didn\u2019t need any more broken parts! I was is the 4th<\/sup> group to run, when I pulled up to the line, it\u2019s pretty different that last year, now I bump in using the trans brake, don\u2019t touch the regular brake pedal at all. Once lined up I brought the RPM\u2019s up to almost 4000, then it feels like lift off!!! The truck definitely launched harder off the line, giving us the wheel speed to help make up a few tenths that we lacked last season. Our first run felt really good, 4.251 seconds. We came back around, switched lanes, and was hoping for another good pass. Again, we bumped in, and had another good launch, 4.367 seconds. Our combined time was a 8.618 giving us 1st<\/sup> place!!!!!<\/p>\n

It felt really good to be back on top, and represent our sponsors as they should be. We still are having a minor fuel pressure issue to correct, once that\u2019s done, it should give us a little more speed that we\u2019re looking for.<\/p>\n

With a couple more events to go this season, we look forward to more 1st<\/sup> place finishes.\u00a0\u00a0 Our next event will be in Aurora, WI, this is another one that has been held annually, 2015 makes it 30 years that the Rescue Squad has put on this event.<\/p>\n
