Despite attempts from GM, Ford, Nissan and even Jeep, the Toyota Tacoma continues to be the best selling mid-size truck on the market today. Well equipped and extremely capable right from the factory as well as a multitude of aftermarket support. A prime example is Kyle Wilkins battle ship gray 2019 Tacoma dubbed USS Taco. BDS 6" coilover system, 35" Toyos, Black Rhino wheels, Diode Dynamics lighting and plenty more come together for this capable Tacoma.

Who doesn't love an old Ford!? This 1974 crew cab began as a restoration project owned by Sam Deford with the help of Paul Baker and while its a work in progress, is a super cool example of breathing new life into a classic truck. Under the hood this truck sports a 5.9L 12-valve Cummins diesel that sends power back to the late model Super Duty axles. Those axles are held in place by a BDS 4-link coilover system and rear leafs originally designed for the late model F250. Tires and wheels are 37" Toyo R/Ts on 22x12 Hostiles. Custom Fusion bumpers were added giving this truck a modern look along with LED lighting.

Custom Offsets, the guys you see all over on the internet building trucks and shooting videos launched their own wheel company Arkon Offroad. With that they wanted to build a promotional tow rig to help get the name out there. When it came to choosing a truck they went with the late model Super Duty for the workhorse 6.7L Powerstroke diesel. From there they outfitted it with a slew of premium accessories to help this truck stand out from the rest and perform at its best on and offroad.

Mods include:
BDS 8" 4-link DSC coilover system
BDS dual steering stabilizer
BDS recoil traction bars
40x15.50x26 Fury M/T tires
26x14 Arkon Offroad victory wheels
ADD stealthfighter bumpers
Rigid radiance lightbar
RK Sport ram air hood
Amp Research powersteps
custom grille
custom headlights
and a lot more...

This past SEMA Show was one for the ages. So many cool and custom vehicles on display will several new 4x4s competing for the spotlight.  Among them the 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with new styling, new powertrain options and new tech throughout. When it came to building a new HD, Ernie Vole of Ernie's ATC in Vernon Hills, IL had a concept that tweaked our interest. Rather than lifting it sky high and and running 24s or even 28s he wanted to show off the truck's offroad prowess, keep it low and build a truck capable of bombing down a trail along the Baja peninsula.

Ernie's no stranger to building functional SEMA trucks, from prerunner trucks and offroad Jeeps to his most memorable ride the original Stubby F350 that graced the cover of Four Wheeler Magazine years ago. For this 2020 HD he needed the right suspension so he turned to BDS for the (preproduction) 2.5" coilover conversion system to ditch the factory torsion bars and UCA/LCA and upgrade to FOX 2.5 DSC coilovers, BDS chromoly UCAs and HD internally gusseted LCAs. Along with that FOX 2.0 IFP bump stops and a full width BDS skid plate. Out back this factory long leafs remain and a custom bed cage was fitted to mount the FOX 2.5 factory series remote resi shocks. This gives clearance for the 35x12.50 Mickey Thompson ATZ P3 tires on 17x9 XD Machete Crawl beadlocks.

The factory bumper was trimmed and supports were added to mount a Baja Designs lightbar along with a roof mounted rack with LP9 lighting all controlled by an sPod relay system. Other notable upgrades include a custom built internal rollbar to mount the PRP restraints and a Pro Eagle big wheel jack mounted in the bed.

2019-Ford-Ranger-B25-33-02

Late last year in preparation for the 2018 SEMA Show, the crew from Air Designs got their hands on the new 2019 Ford Ranger to transform it into their take on the Raptor Ranger, a midsize truck many of us are envious of although not offered here in North America. Starting with the clean slate new Ranger, the team designed an offroad body kit complete with fender flares, hood scoop, body cladding and bumper accents to give their truck a mean appearance all color matched in a gloss black/white pattern. The setup allows for additional Rigid lighting to be added for improved visibility. From there they suspension was upgraded to a BDS 2.5" UCA Lift System with prototype FOX coilovers and shocks to make room for the 33" Nitto Ridge Grapplers on 20" Fuel wheels. To get more power and sound out of the 2.3L EcoBoost engine a Borla exhaust system was added. Very cool build, check it out in action:
