Roastin’ on the Rocks 2016

Every year the Big Rubbers 4×4 club of Windber, PA holds their Roastin’ on the Rocks event at the Doe Valley OHV area. This event brings together wheelers and their rigs from all different backgrounds for a fun weekend of playing on the trails before the winter season sets in.

This year the BDS crew was invited to join as an event sponsor for as the Big Rubbers 4×4 club celebrates their 20th anniversary. While we had planned to bring along Project KJ, our diesel Liberty on 40’s, things didn’t line up so we cruised out to Pennsylvania in the BDS Colorado, our 2015 Chevy Colorado running the 5.5″ Coilover System on 33s. While the truck may not be as capable as the Jeep, we still had a blast wheeling many of the trails that Doe Valley had to offer.

Throughout the weekend, the event staff held trail rides from mild dirt trails to hardcore rock gardens and everything in between. To start the day off, Luke from Pro Trucks took us for a ride through the park in his heavily built TJ Wrangler and showed us the expansive trail network. After that, it was time to get the Colorado muddy and crawl over some rocks.

Check out all the photos from the event and visit Big Rubbers Facebook page for more. Keep an eye out for details on future events they hold if you want to check out this awesome offroad park!

We’re really glad you were able to join us with Pro Trucks for our clubs 20th anniversary celebration. Glad you had fun and liked the trails, there’s still room for some more trails yet so there will be more next time you come out. hope to see you back with the KJ so you can hit some black trails. You gotta stay longer next time, the smoked pork sandwiches were to die for along with the rest of the vittles.
