The Rausch Creek Rockcrawling & Offroad Competition Series finale was held Saturday, September 13, 2008, and Ballpeen Racing had a blast! They did suffer some mechanical problems on the second course. The tie rod broke and they literally blew the top off the steering box preventing them from finishing the second course. They repaired the tie rod and made an attempt at the final course without powersteering and against all odds finished with a -18 which was a very good score for that particular course. Despite their ability to adapt to change, not finishing the second course pushed them out of the shootout by only one place giving them a 6th place finish for the overall series. While this isn’t a terrible score for their very first season as a team, with this truck, they feel they can smooth out the kinks over the winter and bring it harder next season!
