BDS’s West Coast Road Trip

We’re on the road constantly, between heading to shows around the country, hauling rigs to our favorite wheeling spots, and event heading out to meet our dealers to get some face-to-face time at their shops. Recently BDS Chris Lytle (North Central Territory Sales Rep) and Anthony Steele (Mountain Territory Sales Rep) hit the road in the BDS 2014 GMC 1500 with the BDS Project KJ in tow. Their journey started out at our home offices in Coldwater, MI and ended out in Cali for Off-Road Expo. Here’s Chris’s recap of the trip:

The trip started with a stop at D-N-R Racing in Morris, IL. Don and his crew have a nice shop they work out of adjacent to his home. After a quick tour and nice conversation we jumped back on the road and headed to DK 4WD Moline, IL where we were able to meet up with the owner Dave and check out his shop. Dave is an enthusiast that mixes his client projects with personal wrenching projects. From there we made our way to Marion, IA to see Marion 4wd and stopped off at Performance Concepts as well. Performance had a great shop, showroom, and crew all managed by Steve, their fearless leader. After some time spent at the shop it was back on the road in the BDS rigs to check out Total Truck in Des Moines, IA.

It’s great to stop in and see our customers, the guys we talk to on a daily basis and have built a relationship with over the last few months. While I wish I could have stopped at other dealers along the way, we’ve got a tight deadline looming over us to make it out in time for Off-Road Expo in California.

Once out of Iowa Anthony took over navigating duties as he made a number of stops in route to the west coast. Here’s Anthony’s recap of the trip:

The first stop on my part of the road trip was Ultimate Truck Accessories in Omaha, NE. We’ve been doing business with Scott and his crew for a number of years and made sure to stop by and see Matt, Don, and Eric. From there we made our way to St. Paul, NE the next morning to meet with Heather and Nick at Hardcore 4×4. They’ve been BDS customers for a long time and welcomed our impromptu visit. From there we made our way to Englewood, CO to see the guys from High Country Performance 4X4. Eric, John, Jason, Chris and Brandon manned the showroom and install bays. The crew stayed almost 3 hours after closing time to chat with us and check out the ’14 GMC and Project KJ. The following morning we woke up in Colorado Springs, CO to a beautiful mountain view with our trip to Predator 4WD.  After stopping to chat with Jerry and Craig we hit the road for the long haul to Albuquerque, NM to see Ron at A-One Equipment. After a good conversation and some time spent laying under a truck we headed on to AirAid where we dropped off our the ’14 GMC and Project KJ for the BDS Reps Jason and Mike to jump in and continue the west coast dealer stops in route to Off-Road Expo in Pomona, CA…
