SEMA Spotter’s Guide – 2021 Edition
The hottest trucks at SEMA are always running BDS Suspension including our new Bronco. This year is going to be a bit different. While the SEMA Show is on, attendance from industry professionals and exhibitors may be down as concerns and regulations surrounding the pandemic linger. FOX Factory — the parent company to BDS — is among the many companies not exhibiting in 2021. While we won’t have a booth for in-person meetings, FOX and BDS will still be everywhere with dozens of vehicles placed throughout the show. Most of these trucks are spotlighting new and soon-to-be-released products from BDS as well as Zone Offroad, JKS, Crawltek, and FOX. Of course, keep an eye out for the BDS Fire Command Bronco — a one-of-a-kind “half cab” pickup that is decked out in full fire/rescue gear. BDS installs its all-new Bronco coilover suspension system with FOX Performance Elite Series shocks and BDS extreme duty control arms. It’s a key goal in transforming a regular old run-of-the-mill 2.3L manual Ford Bronco 2-door into an awe-inspiring Fire/Rescue-themed truck. Following the progress made in Episode 1, the BDS build team dives deep into the conversion as they begin putting the Bronco back together. BDS Teases New Bronco Project Build Well its that time of year again, SEMA is almost here and with it the crew from BDS is tackling a new product build. Little surprise here it’s on a 2021 Ford Bronco, the most anticipated vehicle in recent years and arguably the platform that will shake things up in the automotive aftermarket now that Jeep has a worthy challenger. For this build we brought in a plain jane Bronco 2Dr, Black Diamond edition that’ll be transformed into something cool, purposeful and unique. Behind the scenes at Hauk Designs
A few weeks back I had the opportunity to tour Hauk Designs with the mad scientist, Mr. Kenny Hauk himself. Located in Chambersburg, PA Hauk Designs is a fab shop and vehicle customizer with a show that airs on Amazon Prime, Digital Lug, etc called Hauk Machines. From the original River Raider days building Jeep snorkels, armor and one of the OG JK truck conversions to these days building a slew of customer, often wacky and over-the-top rat rods trucks, Jeeps and awe-inspiring classics, Hauk Designs builds some incredible vehicles that often blur the line between automobile and artwork. For this site tour we started out checking out the beer tanker and proceeded through the shop to check out some of his new projects, some of his past builds and unveiled on of his newest rides, the 2021 Ford Bronco that is already sporting some prototype BDS arms.
