2" Leveling Kit: BDS offers a 2" leveling kit designed to eliminate the factory rake while improving the trucks all-around performance and allowing larger wheels and tires to be installed. The kit integrates a new top mounted strut spacer in combination with a pre-load spacer to raise the front end while improving the handling and stability. This 2-piece leveling kit design allows the suspension to fully cycle through wheel travel without maxing out the upper ball joints at full drop as is the case with taller 1-piece strut spacer kits on the market. Optional rear BDS-NX2 series and FOX 2.0 gas shocks are also available. This kit allows for up to 33" tires to be installed.

4" and 6" IFS Lift Kits: BDS has a well-deserved reputation of building top quality, high clearance suspension systems for the newer 1/2-ton GM trucks. Available in 4" and 6" lift heights, these systems improve ground clearance, offroad protection and offer improved performance on any terrain. At the core of these 4" and 6" lift systems are a pair of 1/4" steel high clearance crossmembers and differential skid plate to reposition the lower arms and add protection of vital drivetrain components. These combined with the CNC machined ductile iron replacement steering knuckles creates a solid subframe and correct suspension and steering geometry to be compatible with the factory installed ESC system. Up front the kits use a multipoint differential relocation kit and CV spacers to securely reposition the front differential to correct CV axle angle and allow for the use of the stock front driveshaft. Also included for the front are replacement tie rod ends, longer sway bar links, front BDS skid plate, brake line brackets, and either a top mounted strut spacer (4" kits) or a high pressure gas struts (6" kits). Out back these kit are offered with both a rear block and u-bolt kit or replacement GlideRide leaf springs. Also included are rear brake line extensions and your choice of rear BDS-NX2 series or FOX 2.0 IFP gas shocks. These lift kits have been designed, tested, and independently confirmed to integrate flawlessly with the new electronic stability control (ESC) systems and meet FMVSS No.126 compliancy safety standards.

4" and 6" Performance Coilover Systems: The 4" and 6" performance coilover systems bring together the safety and capability of BDS’s suspension systems with uncompromising performance of FOX factory series 2.5 remote reservoir coilovers and rear FOX 2.0 IFP shocks for a true blend of on-road comfort and offroad performance. These systems include all the components of the standard 4" or 6" IFS systems with heavy duty high clearance crossmember, ductile iron steering knuckles, differential skid plate, sway bar relocation, diff relocation and more. In place of top mounted strut spacers/replacement struts and rear NX2 series shocks these systems feature FOX factory series 2.5 coilovers with remote reservoirs and rear FOX 2.0 IFP high pressure gas shocks for exceptional performance and ride quality on any terrain.

The FOX factory series 2.5 remote reservoir coilovers come pre-tuned with Eibach coil springs for impressive high speed offroad performance and the coilovers are preset for 4" or 6" of lift right out of the box to speed up installation. Features include:

  • Smooth-bore, clear coated, zinc plated alloy body
  • Black anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum mounting components
  • 7/8" hard chrome plated heat treated alloy steel shaft
  • High flow piston design with specially formulated race oil
  • External reservoir separates shock oil from high-pressure nitrogen
  • Easy bolt-on installation, coil spring preload set for proper ride height out of the box
  • Resi mount to position the reservoir above the coilover upper mount

4" and 6" DSC Coilover Systems: BDS ups the ante with new DSC coilover systems for the newer Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1/2-ton trucks. Available for 4" and 6" lift systems, these DSC (dual speed compression) adjustable coilovers takes your trucks performance to the next level with adjustable dampening allowing you to dial in your optimal performance in any terrain, on road of off. The coilovers themselves are FOX factory series 2.5 coilovers with a remote DSC reservoir. They come ready to bolt in and tuned for impressive performance tailored specifically to work with the BDS 4" and 6" suspension lifts. The DSC brings a new level of freedom to easily dial in the ride quality to soak up the harsh unpredictable terrain offroad while still providing a plush ride on pavement. The DSC has 12 adjustment points for the high speed compression as well as 10 adjustment points for the low speed compression allowing you to make large or small changes to further improve your performance. Adjustments can be made by simply twisting the "blue" high speed and "gold" low speed compression knobs located on the end of the remote reservoir of the FOX 2.5 coilovers. No tools or shop adjustments needed, allowing you to tune the suspension out on the trail. Along with DSC coilovers these kits come standard with FOX 2.0 IFP performance gas shocks in the rear. These components combined with the tried and true BDS IFS lift system bring an unbeatable suspension to the market for late model Chevy/GMC 1500 4WD trucks. Click to see more on DSC from FOX.

Once we’ve tested and confirmed compatibility with existing kits we’ll send out an updated listing similar to this announcement for GM1500 trucks. If any changes/revisions are needed those will be made prior to announcing the new kits. At this time we’re not listing kits for the 2018 Chevy/GMC 2500HD/3500HD model trucks.

Hi i have 4 inch BDS lift on my 2017 Chev 1500. . I currently running 295x65x18. If i go to a 20 inch wheel , how big of a tire can i go with. And should my rim be 5.75 bach space or should i be using 5 inch back spacing. Didnt know if i could fit 34 or 35 inch tires

Hey Dave, ultimately the max tire size will be dependent on the width and backspacing of that 20″ wheel. If sticking to a 20×9 wheel (w/ 5.75″ backspacing) it will allow up to a 35×12.50 tire with little to no trimming necessary (potential for more trimming if tire has an aggressive sidewall or if used offroad regularly). If you go with a 20×9 wheel (w/ 5″ backspacing) we recommend a 33×12.50 equivalent tire (which is similar to the tire size you have on there now, just a bit wider). Other sizes may “fit” but trimming may be necessary which is common on the GM trucks due to the wheel well shape to maximize tire clearance.

I have a 2017 GMC 4×4 with your 4″ BDS suspension lift. I’m running BFG 305x55x20 tires on my stock wheels with a 1/4″ spacer in the front, withno rubbing at all. Three questions; what is the front track width increase over stock? Do I need the spacer? If I wanted to change to new 20″ wheel, and not have the tires extend out beyond 1″‘ what wheel size (offset and back spacing) do I need?

Hi Russ,
The front track width change on the ’14-18 GM1500 IFS kits is 1-5/8″ per side. While rear wheel spacers aren’t required, if you choose to add them to even out the track width 1-1/2″ spacers are what we’d recommend. On your question about aftermarket wheel spec recommendation we measure based on maximizing clearance rather that the exact amount the tires stick out the fender being things like fender flares, tire shape/ sidewall pattern will effect the final measurement. 20×9 wheels with 5-5.75″ backspacing are recommended, the larger the backspacing the less the tires/wheels will stick out of the fender.

Hello,

Thank you for the clarification. Based on the additional 1-5/8″ distance on the front, do I need the 1/4″ spacer for my stock 20″ wheel?

Hey Russ, I’m not sure I follow your question there. Ultimately the lift kit increases front track width but the change is factored into our recommendation of a 20×9 wheel with 5-5.75″ backspacing. Being 5.75″ backspacing is the max we recommend the factory 20×9 wheels with 6″ backspacing will likely require the .25″ wheel spacers to bring allow the tires to clear the steering/suspension. Effectively the stock 20″ wheels with .25″ wheel spacers will net you the recommended 5.75″ backspacing measurement.
