The newest addition to BDS Suspension’s lineup of products for the 2018+ Jeep Wrangler JL are dual steering stabilizer kits specially designed to improve drivability by limiting the steering feedback caused by the larger mass of oversized tires. This setup replaces the factory single stabilizer and converts it over to a dual cylinder setup for more steering control on and offroad.

This new dual steering stabilizer mount is 100% bolt-on, allowing installation of either dual NX2 or FOX 2.0 steering stabilizers in an end-to-end configuration across the front steering. The new mounts are built from ultra-strong 3/8" steel, finished in a durable textured black powder coat with a riveted stainless steel center BDS badging. The center bracket uses u-bolts to mount to the axle while the outer brackets use a no-slip design that clamps around the tie rod ends. With the brackets in place you have the option to mount your choice of NX2-series hydraulic cylinders or FOX 2.0 gas cylinders for improved damping over the stock steering damper. The FOX 2.0s feature 50/50 gas pressurized cylinders and a light weight aluminum body for a superior handling experience. These steering stabilizer kits are compatible with most 2”+ lift kits on the market.

Upgrade your new Jeep Wrangler JL’s factory steering stabilizer with these new dual kits from BDS Suspension.

I’ve noticed that some of the Dual Stabilizer Kits installed on the JL have the shafts towards the outside. Some have the shafts on the inside. What is the difference in the 2 setups?? which is the proper setup?? Thanks for your help

Hey Jared,
That’s a great question. While the is no difference in stabilizer performance based on orientation of the cylinders, we recommend installing them with the cylinders towards the outside. This allows for the more mounting clearance between the stabilizer and center mounting bracket.

Just a couple questions, have a 2020 Rubicon. Going to be installing a 2″ Mopar lift with 22×10 wheels and 35×12.5 nitto grappler tires.
Would like to use your dual stabilizer. Why the Pitman arm and 2″ bump stop ext? No other brand Ive reseached has ask for that? Is this required and if so, Do you recommend a specific brand and maybe part numbers for those accessories?

Thanks Tom

Hey Thomas,
In short, this dual steering stabilizer setup will work with the Mopar 2″ kit. To clarify that fitment note, our dual steering stabilizer kit can be installed with a minimum of 2″ of lift, this is to allow sufficient clearance for the stabilizer cylinders. It is designed to be used with the factory steering linkage and pitman arm installed (rather than an aftermarket larger diameter steering linkage and/or a drop pitman arm). Neither of these are swapped out with the Mopar kit so that is not an issue for you. We recommend 2″ additional bump stop extensions to allow clearance for the steering stabilizer during full compression of the front suspension. The Mopar 2″ kit includes bump stop extensions as do our lift kits, this is part of most lift kits to correct the bump stop engagement. Hope that helps, let us know if you have any other questions

Thank you, so I shouldn’t need anything additional then if I am hearing you correctly? Thanks for your help

Tom

Correct, you can purchase the stabilizer bracket and (2) cylinders and it’ll bolt right on with the Mopar 2″ kit installed.

Hey Dave,
In short, no this is not recommended for a stock height JL/JT. It is designed to be used on lifted models only and will require 2″ additional bump stop length to allow sufficient stabilizer cylinder clearance during full suspension compression. Most 2-3″ lifts will include a 2″ bump stop extension to meet this requirement, and taller lift kits will include taller bump stop extensions to which are fine to use as well with this dual stabilizer kit

Hey Cory, while that isn’t a scenario we’ve tested I’d expect the single stabilizer to use a different extended/collapsed length than the cylinders we spec for the dual steering stabilizer kit.
