BDS recently had the pleasure to go wheeling in the San Juan Mountains during the 13th annual National FJ Summit. This event, located in Ouray, CO brought in 400 Toyota and Lexus off road vehicles for five days of adventure, laughs, and fun. Due to massive amounts of snow last winter, many of the trails were not open all the way over the passes. This made for some last minute changes from the event coordinators, but in the end everything ran nice and smooth for the participants and vendors. The amount of avalanche debris was mind blowing. Entire sections of forest were taken out and ground into sticks. It was pretty amazing to see the aftermath of these massive avalanches.
Like previous years, we setup for vendor day with our good friends and BDS distributor RSG Offroad. This allowed for the attendees to really learn about the latest offerings from BDS, and get pricing and install availability from RSG. The booth was packed all three days that the vendors displayed, and it was a great time to catch up with old and new friends alike.
Even though a good amount of the harder trails were closed during the event, there was no lack of carnage. The high water crossings took out more than a few fan blades and even hydro locked a couple of vehicles. All in all though, everyone had a great time and can’t wait for next year.
