Project Trucks: AirAid’s EcoBoost Ford F150

Brian Paravicini has been building trucks for nearly 2 decades. His portfolio of builds started out with a lowered truck on monsterous (at the time) 20” wheels and over the years has evolved into a passion for all things automotive. As sales manager of AirAid, Brian gets his fix of performance vehicles, big horsepower and the automotive aftermarket. For his latest built Brian wanted to build a truck capable of offroad chase duties while still being comfortable on the street, something that wouldn’t scare the valet driver if he passed the keys off to a during night out on the town.  Brian decided on the blue oval and picked himself up a 2013 Ford F150 4WD with the 3.5L twin turbo V6 EcoBoost engine putting out a healthy 365hp/420tq from the factory.

With Brian’s position at AirAid, he had the resources to turn this EcoBoost into a screamer. He found the ticket was an AirAid high flow cold air intake, Stainless Works performance exhaust, Wagner Tuning intercooler and an Edge Products evolution CTS programmer for north of 400hp/500tq when it was last dyno’d. Onto the exterior of the truck this F150 is running a pair of Anzo USA projector headlights with the halos, a Smittybilt M1 mesh grille, and an Addictive Desert Designs venom front bumper for added trail protection. Bushwacker street flares were fitted for a clean look along with 35×12.50×20 General Grabbers mounted up on 20×9 XD Grenades. Making room for the larger meats Brian went with a BDS 6” Performance Coilover System to help the truck soak up the bumps when he’s charging through the desert terrain. If any of Brian’s excursions continue into the night there’s an assortment of Lazer Star LEDs to light up the way. Out back the bed received a Line-X protective coating and Retrax Pro cover. Anzo USA taillights, matching ADD bumper and Lazer Star flood lights round out the back of this truck. Amp Research retractable steps were installed to make cab access easier with the new altitude. A custom Kicker Audio sound gate system was installed along with an Optima yellow top battery to supply enough juice for all the electronics. The Edge CTS display monitors the engine vitals while integrating a backup camera now mounted.

Whether its blazing a trail out in the desert or commuting to and from work, this truck is right at home in any terrain. Brian nailed it with this truck coming up with a clean, functional EcoBoost F150 both comfortable and capable, ready to perform at a moments notice. For more on this rig head to BDS’s Facebook Page.
