Over the last 18 months since we first got our hands on the 2019 Ranger we’ve been featured center stage at Ford’s booth at SEMA and made top 40 in SEMA’s Battle of the Builders competition. We’ve taken on the Overland Adventure, Moab trail rides, driven cross country numerous times and made it out to dozens of shows, races and dealer visits along the way. It’s been on the cover of Four Wheeler Magazine and still to this day is the only crew cab, long bed late model Ranger in existence (that we’re aware of). It’s the one and only Project Ranger X.

Stepping back to when we first got our hands on this truck, one of the first preproduction Rangers Ford build specifically for us to turn the project truck you see today…. Built up and ready for an adventure. With just 5 short weeks, the BDS build team took one of the first 2019 Ford Rangers in existence and overhauled it into a show stopper. Built for capability out on the trail, great looks with a strong stance, and plenty of utility with room to haul gear BDS's Project Ranger X elevates the Ranger to the next level. Starting with a pre-production 2019 Ranger right off the assembly line, this truck was torn down, the frame was extended, service bed and custom rack fitted, a BDS suspension lift installed and larger tires and accessories were added. The General - as it has been affectionately known - is a true workhorse of a truck. This rig has been a part of it all from multiple cross country tips hauling vehicles, wheeling out in Moab, and being cut apart to prototype new products to bring to market.  As one of the longest running trucks in the BDS fleet, this 2012 Ford F250 Super Duty has plenty of stories to tell from the use and abuse by our staff. From Michigan to Moab, this rig has wheeled its way through the country, hitting some of the top trails along the way. The General even spent some time in the rotation with our outside sales reps as a daily driver visiting customers in different parts of the country.  Check off to the side for the current configuration with this truck.

BDS Featured Rides: 2020 Ford F350 - Project Go Beyond | FJ Cruiser

Our 2020 Ford F350, better known as #ProjectGoBeyond, was our 2019 SEMA build. This rig is now hanging out in Colorado with our Sales Rep, Miles.

This rig underwent a lot of customization to get to become what we consider the ultimate overlanding rig. You can read all about it here and check out the build specs on the right -->  We are looking forward to taking it out for some true overlanding adventures as soon as possible.

Also hanging out in Miles's driveway is a Toyota FJ cruiser. This rig is used more so as a daily driver, but it has been out on some pretty fun adventures as well; including the National FJ Summit. We've included a few photos from this event below.

BDS Featured Rides: 2017 Ford Super Duty | Project Renaissance

If you live in the Southeast region of the US, you may recognize this guy or this truck! Brad is our Territory Rep and he is driving the BDS 2017 Ford F250, nicknamed Project Renaissance. This rig made its debut at the 2019 Daytona Truck Meet. Since then it has been to several other shows including: Scrapin The Coast 2019, Rocky Top Diesel Shootout 6, Rudys Diesel Fall Event, The Petit Le Mans, and Lone Star Throwdown 2020. We are itching to get this rig back out to some more events and shows across the country. Brad has been in the industry 16 years.

Brad's interest in the industry started at his very first NOPI car show as a kid. Out of highschool he worked as a tech in a shop, from there he got into sales, management, and even owned his own shop for a while. In 2013 he built his own SEMA rig, which debuted in the American Force booth. In 2017 Brad started his journey with BDS. Since then he has been growing his territory and building relationships with customers dealers.

BDS Featured Rides: Ford Super Duty

With shows and events getting cancelled due to COVID-19 related stay home and quarantine orders several of the staff here at BDS Suspension have been going a bit stir crazy. As many of you can attest to the first rule of owning a lifted truck or Jeep is you have to talk about it all the time so several of us on staff thought we'd do just that by featuring our own rides and what we drive on the daily. I thought I'd kick it off with a feature on my personal ride, a 2011 Ford Super Duty.

If you follow BDS on Facebook and Instagram the last couple years you may have seen me on a few of the videos featuring custom truck builds or hanging out at events. My name is Carter and I've been on staff helping out in the BDS marketing dept for the last 10 years. Over the last few years I've set up my Super Duty to perform well and handle the tasks I need it for. Its comfortable as a daily driver, able to tow/haul heavy loads, capable for mild offroad use and looks good doing it (well in my opinion at least). Initially, this truck was build on Xtreme Offroad TV as part of a "chase truck" themed build series. Big wheels are a big trend, while its not everyone's style and the argument can be made its not as "offroad" capable, let's be honest, how many people are using their fullsize trucks in that harsh of conditions offroad (or offroad at all in many situations).

So to go along with that trend we built a new 2019 RAM 3500 to debut at SEMA showcasing a number of preproduction BDS suspension upgrades. The new altitude comes from a BDS 8" 4-Link conversion system with upgraded FOX 2.5 DSC coilovers, BDS dual stabilizer kit, BDS Glideride rear leaf springs and Recoil traction bars all finished in a metallic blue powder coat. This allows clearance for the 40x15.50 Nitto Trail Grapplers on 26x16 Armani Offroad Buzzed wheels. Being a limited, this truck is nicely optioned from the factory, but to add to its menacing appearance a Body Guard A2L front and rear bumpers were added along with Rigid LED lighting.
