New BDS Steering Stabilizer Kits ’99-04 Ford Super Duty Trucks

Coldwater, MI—January 26, 2015 — BDS Suspension is now offering redesigned single and dual steering stabilizer kits for the 1999-2004 Ford Super Duty trucks. These new kits are designed to improve your truck’s overall drivability by reduce the front end shimmy caused by oversized tires to keep you in control of your lifted Ford.

These new steering stabilizer kits are available in an assortment of configurations, including both single and dual setups to mount your choice of BDS-5500 hydraulic stabilizers or Fox 2.0 gas cylinders. The Fox 2.0s feature 50/50 gas pressurized cylinders for superior dampening and the ultimate handling experience. The 5500-series and Fox 2.0 single stabilizers are a bolt-on replacement for trucks equipped with a factory tie rod mounted stabilizer. For trucks not equipped with tie rod stabilizer mount BDS offers a single stabilizer mount that clamps to the tie-rod allowing your choice of BDS-5500 or Fox 2.0 cylinders for improved steering responsiveness.

Stepping up to the dual stabilizer kits BDS has a redesigned center bracket that replaces the now discontinued #55364 dual mount bracket. The new dual steering stabilizer kit is 100% bolt on, mounting a pair of BDS-5500 or Fox 2.0s end-to-end across the front steering. The new mounts are built from ultra-strong 3/8″ steel, finished in a durable textured black powder coat with a riveted stainless steel center BDS badging.

Pricing depends on which stabilizer setup you go with, single or dual, BDS-5500 or Fox 2.0 and if you already have the factory single stabilizer bracket installed. For pricing head to our website at http://bds-suspension.com and insert the part numbers included on this PR in the search

I just saw a youtube video on the install of the dual 9500 system on a superduty. I was impressed with the brackets and componets having installed competing products on simular trucks. I especially like the bracket that mounts to the diff housing and the stabilizer mounting center plate…that aint going anywhere..its locked down. All competitor products have to be rechecked often as the center plate will move. SO, how can I get one for my 2010 f-450 4wd. what part number kit do I need. please advise.

Hey Mike, thanks for the message. I can’t confirm compatibility with the F450 as we designed these stabilizer kits for the F250/F350 trucks and haven’t test fit on the F450. We offer a few stabilizer cylinders the NX2 (silver painted), 9500 (brushed stainless), and FOX 2.0 (brushed aluminum gas charged). That said the parts numbers for our current dual stabilizer kit are:

(1) #55358 – dual stabilizer bracket kit
(2) #85405 – NX2 series stabilizer cylinder (or)
(2) #98405 – 9500 series stabilizer cylinder (or)
(2) #98224019 – FOX 2.0 stabilizer cylinder

Need replacement shocks for duel stabilizer kit on 2012 Ford F-350 4×4 super duty. The dreaded “Death Wobble” is beginning to return and I suspect the shocks are wearing out on the duel stabilizer kit installed in 2018.

Hey Gerald,
Thanks for reaching out. A few questions that come up after reading your message. How is the truck set up (lift kit details, wheel/tire, condition of tires, alignment specs) and is it running the BDS dual steering stabilizer kit on there now or someone else’s kit? While a dual stabilizer kit will help control a lot of the front end shimmy, its possible its a bandaid on another issue. Have you unbolted the stabilizer at one end to check to see if they are in fact worn out?

At the risk of selling you a product that might not be the solution, I’d recommend you reach out to our sales/tech group to discuss your situation a bit more in depth and confirm the parts you need (517) 279-2135 or sales-bds@ridefox.com. You can also head to your local BDS dealer for assistance
