Hey, I have a question about your Tacoma 6in lift. The kit itself says use 18inch wheels but I see people use 17inch wheels and wanting to know if 17×8.5 or 17×9 would work with a could offset like -25. I DM BDS on Instagram and he said with the proper backspacing. I just wanna know then what back spacing and offset would work.
Officially we don’t spec for the use of 17″ wheels on the Tacoma kit as the clearances are extremely tight and in many cases will not clear the steering. Its not so much the backspacing measurement as it is differences in the wheel construction between manufacturers that will play into whether or not they’ll fit. To play it safe we recommend 18″+ wheels. If you do choose to try installing 17″ wheels I’d say follow the 18×9 specs (4.5″ BS) and would strongly recommend dry fitting them (unmounted) once the lift is on to check for clearance just in case. We can’t make any guarantees on clearance.
