BDS’s Weekly Suspension Hackjob (Friday F*Up)
It started out as a fun Friday incentive to post comically horrific suspension hack jobs on the BDS Facebook page, almost 2.5 years later BDS’s Friday F*Up (also known as Not A BDS) continues to amuse the masses with no signs of letting up. Each Friday, BDS posts a glorious example of what not to do to your ride, a “what the hell were they thinking”, sketchy, unsafe, pitiful excuse for lift kits up for all the world to see and chime in on. Submissions continue to come in from around the US and abroad and the “Not A BDS” posts continue with no sign of going away soon. Here are just a few of our favorites to date, check them all out and pick your favorite on the BDS Facebook Page at Friday F*Up or Hashtag #notabds on Instagram. BDS TJ Install in FourWheeler Magazine
BDS TJ Install in FourWheeler Magazine Scrolling through FourWheeler.com it seems that Dirt Every Day star Fred Williams stopped by Hanks Welding in San Luis Obispo, CA and shot a tech install story on a BDS 3” short arm system going into a customer’s Jeep Wrangler TJ. While some 4Wheelers may be looking for a long travel kit with all the fixings, there are plenty of weekend warriors out there with their eye on a quality system able get them through the trail on the weekends and make their daily commute to work Monday to Friday. For this build Fred fitted a 3” BDS short arm kit with BDS fixed lower control arms, adjustable track bar, and FOX 2.0 shocks on a ’98 TJ. Check out the story and his highlights from the install in an upcoming issue of Four Wheeler Magazine or online now at http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/suspension-brakes/1603-jeep-tj-3-inch-suspension-lift/
BDS heads to Discount Wheel & Tire
A few weeks back Brandi from BDS hit the road in the company F250 for a road trip through the heartlands. She took off from the Coldwater, MI facilities in route to Ardmore, OK, home of Discount Wheel & Tire. With just a few days to get there, she found a way to stop off and see several BDS dealers along the way. First stop on the road trip was Topeka, Kansas where Brandi stopped in to visit Derek and the crew at Expert Offroad. They’ve got a great showroom and several cool projects in the works. From there she made the trek across to the other side of Topeka to checked in on Garrett and Riley and the guys at 4×4 Land. With a nice storefront and tons of fabrication projects out in the shop, that shop was keeping busy. From there Brandi hit the road in the BDS…
SnoFari 2016: Michigan Snow Wheeling
Michigan is typically home to cold, snowy winters which makes for great conditions if you’re into winter activities like ice fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, and winter 4wheeling. This year, however, its been warmer than usual. This winter has seen more rainfall than snowfall and consequently the deep fresh powder just isn’t there. Each winter, around the last weekend in January, the Soldiers of Fortune Offroad club (SoFo) holds a trail riding event known as SnoFari. The event consists of a day and a half of winter wheeling, great food and good people. Celebrating 10 years strong, the event has grown over the years and is limited to around 60 vehicles plus trail guides and sponsors. This was BDS’s 4th year attending and we have a blast each year. We hit the road in the Project Raider, our 2015 Chevy HD towing Project KJ, our 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD to hit the trails. With daytime…
