SnoFari 2016: Michigan Snow Wheeling
Michigan is typically home to cold, snowy winters which makes for great conditions if you’re into winter activities like ice fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, and winter 4wheeling. This year, however, its been warmer than usual. This winter has seen more rainfall than snowfall and consequently the deep fresh powder just isn’t there. Each winter, around the last weekend in January, the Soldiers of Fortune Offroad club (SoFo) holds a trail riding event known as SnoFari. The event consists of a day and a half of winter wheeling, great food and good people. Celebrating 10 years strong, the event has grown over the years and is limited to around 60 vehicles plus trail guides and sponsors. This was BDS’s 4th year attending and we have a blast each year. BDS hits the powder at SnoFari 2014 This past weekend BDS hit the highway for a short 3 hour trip up north for the snowy 4wheeling adventure known as SnoFari. With Project KJ in tow, we took our 2013 Ram 3500 dubbed Project Slate up for a weekend of wheeling in the snow cloaked trails around West Branch, MI. Hosted by the Soldiers of Fortune Offroad Club (SoFo) SnoFari brings out roughly 80 rigs for 2 days and nights in the powdery white stuff. This marking the 8th annual event was on the snowier side with plenty of accumulation this winter in Michigan and several inches of fresh powder and single digit temps all weekend long. BDS Kicks Off 2014 Show Season with SnoFari this weekend
BDS kicks off the 2014 Show Season with SnoFari this coming weekend. This annual event hosted by the Soldiers of Fortune Offroad Club (SoFo) brings out roughly 80 rigs for 2 days and nights of snowy 4wheeling around West Branch, MI. From budget built daily drivers to one-off customs there are rigs of all kinds out wheeling the snowy trails. We’ve looking forward to hanging out with old friends and making new ones. This marks the 8th annual event and will be held Friday January 24th through Saturday January 25th. BDS will be there in Project KJ, our 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD on 40s for the 4wheeling festivities. As with each year they will hold a banquet dinner Saturday night for everyone in attendance to grub out, share photos, and take home some of raffle items donated by event sponsors, BDS included.
