4.5″ High Clearance Lift Kits:The 4.5″ lift system is the perfect option for HD owners looking for more ground clearance and room for 35″ tires. Based off BDS’s tried and true high clearance IFS design these systems are extremely stout and ready to perform out on the trail while providing the on-road comfort HD owners have come to expect. These kits integrate flawlessly with the OE installed electronic stability control (ESC) systems for safety. Up front the kit utilizes a pair of one-piece 1/4″ steel high clearance crossmembers, differential relocation brackets, heavy duty differential skid plate, support brace, and front BDS-branded skid plate to create a sturdy subframe and improved offroad protection. A pair of CNC-machined ductile iron steering knuckles dwarf the factory units and position off the stock upper arm and relocated lower arm mounts without increasing track width. To further increase the ground clearance over other kits this 4.5″ system tucks the torsion bars up tight to the chassis using a pair of torsion bar relocation brackets that key off the factory lower A-arm. This design maximizes break over ground clearance to keep from getting high centered offroad with the added benefit of providing a clean, streamline appearance without the torsion bars hanging down. Extended DOT compliant braided stainless steel brake lines are supplied to all full suspension travel, longer links to allow the sway bar to function properly and your choice of precision tuned BDS 5500-series or FOX 2.0 IFP performance gas shocks at all 4 corners. In the rear, this kit is offered with either a 2″ or 3″ rear block and u-bolt kits to achieve your designed stance.

6.5″ High Clearance Lift Kits: Stepping up to the 6.5″ high clearance systems, these kits allow for up to 37″ tires to be installed. The 6.5″ high clearance has been an extremely popular option for HD owners since its release in 2011. This kit is built to take a beating and is backed by BDS’s no fine print warranty. Similar to the 4.5″ high clearance system, the 6.5″ utilizes heavy duty 1/4″ steel, laser cut crossmembers, multipoint differential relocation brackets, differential and front skid plate creating a sturdy subframe for the suspension. A pair of CNC-machined ductile iron steering knuckles dwarf the factory units and position off the stock upper arm and relocated lower arm mounts without increasing track width. To further increase the ground clearance over other kits this 6.5″ system tucks the torsion bars up tight to the chassis using a pair of torsion bar relocation brackets that key off the factory lower A-arm. In the rear, this kit is offered with either a 3″ standard or 5″ u-bolt flip kit to achieve your designed stance.

Get the look and performance with BDS Suspension.

4.5″ and 6.5″ Important Kit Notes:
1) Torsion bar tool required to load/unload torsion bars.
2) Requires frame bracket and differential modification.
3) 5″ rear block kit not fit dually applications, 3″ block kit recommended.
4) Stock 17″, 18″, & 20″ wheels cannot be reinstalled.
5) Factory dually wheels cannot be reinstalled.
6) Models with 2-piece rear driveshaft may require carrier bearing drop #121612.
7) If minor front driveline vibration occurs at highway speeds while in 4WD and the vehicle will be used in this situation on a regular basis, front driveshaft replacement is recommended with a dual Cardan style driveshaft.

Do you guys ship to the island of Guam. I’m looking for a 6 to 8 inch lift for a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD.

Hey Roman, currently we only offer manufacturer direct shipping to the continental US. You would need to use a US ship-to address via an exporter or order through one of our distributors that offer international shipping to Guam. For a list of current distributors head to http://bds-suspension.com/distributor-lookup

I have a 2016 3500 HD 4×4, Siingle Rear Wheel. Your web site claims a 35” tire will fit with the 4.5” lift. What size rim and tire do you recommenced? I’m do not want the tires “sticking out” a lot /

Hey John, thanks for the interest in BDS Suspension. Our 4.5″ High Clearance kits will allow you to fit up to 35″ tires on your 2016 Chevy/GMC 3500. To keep the tires from sticking out of the fender we recommend running 35×12.50 tires on 20×9 wheels with 5-6″ backspacing. Other 17×9 and 20×9 wheels can be used, but will require around 4.5-4.625″ backspacing to clear the steering and will stick out further. For more on this kit, photos and wheel/tire recommendations head to http://bds-suspension.com/product?kid=719H . You can also check out other trucks running the same kit to get ideas on the stance you are after. Head to our customer gallery at http://bds-suspension.com/bar ad in the search by keyword field type “719” to view all the 4.5″ equipped HD trucks that have been submitted.

Hey Chris, we have authorized dealer/installers across the country with several around SoCal. To find the dealer closest to you head to our dealer locator at http://bds-suspension.com/distributor-lookup. As far cutting/welding, the both the 4.5″ and 6.5″ kits require removing part of the rear factory crossmember to allow clearance for the differential/driveshaft in its relocated position. For more information check out the step-by-step instructions at http://bds-suspension.com/instructions/021653.pdf

Hey Ryan,
By law a lift kit will not void the warranty (Magnuson Moss Warranty Act). Many dealerships have brand new trucks already lifted up for sale on the lot. That said, all BDS lift kits come with Factory Protection Plus, a premium extended warranty program that includes BDS’s no fine print warranty on BDS parts and a 5-year, 100,000-mile drivetrain warranty to match the OE warranty in the event the dealer tries to deny a warranty claim faulting the suspension mods. For more on the topic contact our sales/customer service team at (517) 279-2135.

Jorge, I can’t speak for Readylift, but on our BDS 4.5″ high clearance lift system we spec it to fit 35×12.50 tires on a 22×9 wheels with 4.5-6″ backspacing. Other sizes can be used, but are more likely to require trimming or more lift for clearance. We don’t list our wheel/tire recommendations for fitting wide wheels with our kits, as the wheel backspacing, true tire size, tire sidewall profile, and how the vehicle is being used (on road vs off-road) will effect the amount of clearance and may require additional trimming. If you’re set on running the 35×12.50 tires on 22×12 wheels I’d recommend going with the 6.5″ lift option to allow for additional tire/wheel clearance. For more on our recommended specs head to http://bds-suspension.com/product?kid=719H and check out other customer rides in the BDS customer gallery at http://bds-suspension.com/bar

why under the important kit notes part does it say factory 17” and 18” wheels can not be reinstalled?

Hey Davin, to design the suspension systems to function properly and correct the suspension/steering/driveline geometry several factory components are replaced one of them being the OE steering knuckles. The replacement knuckles are taller and have a relocated steering mount for the steering linkage. Due to the large backspacing in combination with a smaller diameter the factory 17″ and 18″ wheels cannot be used as there is a clearance issue. The factory 20s have a large enough diameter to provide sufficient clearance as do aftermarket 17-18″ wheels that follow our recommended 4.5-4.625″ BSing measurement. If your set on running your factory 17-18″ wheels you’ll need to install a set of wheel spacers to achieve our recommended backspacing measurement.

Hey Todd, thanks for reaching out. We build our systems to the highest standard to improve capability while retaining handling and on-road drivability. Both our 4.5″ and 6.5″ IFS systems for the late model 2011-2017 Chevy/GMC HD trucks are designed to maintain the factory track width as well as not effect the turning radius of the truck.

Hey Joe, the GMC HD pictured is running the BDS 6.5″ Lift System, 37″ Fuel Mud Grippers and 22×10 Fuel Mavericks

Hey Keith, the 4.5″ and 6.5″ use the same base components so lift height can be used between the standard (torsion bar) kits can be used between those lift heights. While the torsion bar allow for some adjustability in final ride height, we don’t recommend setting the kit up lower than 4.5″. If you’re looking for a smaller lift height we also offer the 2-3″ coilover conversion systems.

I have a 2016 2500HD High Country
How big of a tire Can I run on my stock 20” wheels if I went with the 6.5 in lift?

Do I need to use aftermarket wheels to get the stance right?

Hey Cameron, thanks for reaching out about lift options for your HD. While the 6.5″ lift is sufficient to fit up to 37″ tires, to do so you’ll need to go with an aftermarket wheel (or wheel spacers on the factory wheels) to correctly position the them within our recommended backspacing measurements to clear the steering/suspension components. If you want to reuse your factory 20s you’ll need to add wheel spacers. How do I know what I need as far as the overload goes?
#719H (4.5? Lift Kit, w/o Overload)
#721H (4.5? Lift Kit, w/ Overload)

Hey Jared,
That is a variable with the factory truck, the final ride height is the same either way, but if equipped with an overload leaf we provide longer u-bolts. Take a look at the rear leaf spring and see if there is a separate “overload” leaf siting above the main leaf pack (for reference see pg 26 figure R7 of the instruction sheet). If you have the leaf order the w/ overload rear box kit, if not order the w/o overload rear box kit

i am currently running the 4.5 on my 2016 2500hd with 35×11.50r20 i am wanting to step up to a 37×11.50 tire. can i achieve this with my 4.5? if not what would i need to convert my 4.5 to the 6.5 lift.
thanks,

Hey Joshua,
Our recommendations are just that recommendations based on what we’ve test fit. In general we recommend 6.5″ lift height to clear 37s on the ’11-19 HDs, but you are welcome to try and squeeze them on the 4.5″ kit. Ultimately that will also depend on the wheel specs (width/backspacing) along with your comfort level trimming the fenders. As for a parts list to go from 4.5″ to 6.5″, our sales team will be able to assist with that, you can reach them at (517) 279-2135 or sales-bds@ridefox.com
