King of the Hammers Tomorrow!

The event that started just a few short years ago and took the off-road racing industry by storm is in full swing out in Johnson Valley, CA. Over the past week the desolate lakebed has been transformed into Hammertown as 50,000+ set up camp for this new class of endurance racing. King of the Hammers brings together high speed desert racing with extreme rock crawling as teams compete for the coveted crown and bragging right for the coming year. Competition is intense with a mix of corporately sponsored teams and professional driver’s out on the course. This yearcompetition expanded this year with the addition of classes for UTV, Moto, and the Everyman’s Challenge allowing everyday trail rigs to compete head to head.

Tomorrow is the main event as the competition buggies finish prepping for the ultimate race. BDS sponsored Team Desert Concepts this year in car #4454, and IFS buggy owned by Dave Cole that has had its share of checkered flags over the years most recently bringing home the Best in the Desert Championship for 2011. Driven by JT Stephens and race op manger Bryan Grigsby this rig is primed for racing qualifying sell with a time of 6 hours and 15 minutes starting them in a good spot for the race tomorrow. We wish the guys good luck out on the course tomorrow and safety for everyone out for the race either racing or spectating.
