2014 Ford F150 4WD 4″ Lift KitsColdwater, MI—February 18, 2014—BDS Suspension now offers 4″ lift kits for the 2014 Ford F150 4WD trucks. Following a few minor revisions from previous F150 models, BDS now offers a updated version of their 4″ high clearance lift system to improve the looks and performance of late model Fords while retaining the handling characteristics owners have come to expect. The 4″ lift system is designed to integrate flawlessly with the new electronic stability control (ESC) systems and has passed FMVSS No.126 compliancy standards. Up front the kit utilizes a pair of one-piece 1/4″ steel high clearance crossmembers, differential relocation brackets, and a heavy duty differential skid plate to create a solid subframe for the suspension components. A pair of CNC-machined ductile iron steering knuckles dwarf the factory units are are used to reposition front steering mounts. The kit also includes an upper strut mount spacer to retain the factory ride quality, bump stop extensions, sway bar relocation brackets, new alignment cam bolts, and a billet aluminum front driveshaft spacer. Out back the factory block is removed and a BDS offset pin block kit is used to recenter the rear axle within the wheelwell. Brake line extensions and your choice of rear BDS-5500 or Fox 2.0 shocks round out the kit allowing for up to 35″ tires to be installed. As with all BDS kits, this 4″ lift kit is backed by the Factory Protection Plus Program offering BDS’s exclusive no fine print warranty, FMVSS No.126 ESC system compliance, and a 5-year 60,000 mile drivetrain warranty free of charge. awesome! what size tires are shown on the black f150 in the pics?
@Logan, this truck is running 35×12.50×20 A/Ts on 20×9 BMFs
Can the factory 18 inch wheels be used with the kit
The stock 17s and 18s cannot be reinstalled with this kit due to a clearance issue with the new steering knuckles to keep the kit FMVSS No.126 (ESC System) compliant. For more on the topic contact BDS tech support at (517) 279-2135
What is the backspacing on the wheels on this black f150?
That’s the 20×9 BMF Rehab wheel, I believe that have a 4.5” backspacing but I’d recommend verifying with BMF
Also….on the 4″ kit is there any welding/cutting?
There is some cutting/welding required when installing the 4” and 6” systems. The factory rear crossmember needs to be cut and a support brace welded in to allow clearance for the front driveline once differential is repositioned with the lift. We have the step by step installation instructions available at http://bds-suspension.com/instructions/023622.pdf and if you have any questions BDS tech support can be reached at (517) 279-2135.
What rear block is that black f150 truck using? The 4″ rear block or 2″ rear block?
Hey Joe, the black F150 in the release is running the 4″ rear block. It installs in place of the factory 1.25″ block and nets a level to slightly tail high stance.
