P1020412Crandon is one of those special places. The sights, the sounds, the feeling of being just feet from a herd of 700+ hp short course trucks coming around the corner at the Big House. Now Crandon International Off-Road Raceway on Labor Day weekend when the World Championship Racing is in town, how could you pass up on an event like that. Well we couldn’t resist either so BDS loaded up for the weekend of racing and made our way north our of Michigan for Crandon, WI. The Big House, as its known, had a sold out crowd as the show came to town. The air was filled with high octane excitement as race fans came to cheer on their favorite drivers. The BDS booth stayed busy as many stopped by between heats to check out the products and see what specials we had going on. The BDS Dodge gets attention everywhere it goes and this weekend was no exception.

But now to the racing action; the weekend started off great with an awesome cup race sponsored by B&L Sand Toys and BDS Suspension. Congratulations to Charlie Wilson for winning the cup and taking home the trophy along with the $1500 in BDS gear. Following those races the Stadium Super Trucks from Robby Gordon’s camp took to the track putting on one heck of a show before the main other classes hit the dirt. Congrats to CJ Greaves (Amsoil Cup & Pro Light), Rob MacCachren (Pro 4×4), Jeff Kincaid (Pro 2WD), Brad Morris (Pro Buggy), Bob Gremler Jr (Super Truck), Danny Beauchamp (Super Stock Truck), Greg Stingle (1600 Light Buggy), Mark Steinhardt (1600 Buggy), Bradley Lamarche (Formula 4×4), Scott Mueller (Classix), Cory Marquardt (Stock Truck), Myles Cheek (Trophy Kart). It was an awesome weekend of racing, despite the torrential down poor and some flooding in the pits Sunday, but the track crews worked feverishly to drain the water and prep the track for the racing to resume at noon. After the big cleanup racing resumed with all the excitement that Cradon is known for. One of the highlights included the night wrapped up with the Greeve boys finishing #1 and #2 in final race. We will definitely be going back next season, if you haven’t experienced it then add it to your bucket list. (To see more photos, head to the BDS Facebook Page).

Offroad racing is one of those things that become an obsession. Whether you’ve been to one race or you’ve lost count, there’s something about the rumble of the purpose build race truck putting down 900hp, screaming around the dirt track, throwing up roosts, launching off  kickers. BDS wanted a taste of the action so we loaded up and hit the road this past weekend heading north to Crandon, WI for the TORC Series races. With multiple classes racing throughout the weekend, there wasn’t a shortage of high-octane action as Stock, PRO Light, PRO Buggy, PRO 4×4, and Formula 4×4 rigs took to the track at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway. Between heats the grounds were filled with truck tuning in the pits, sponsors giving out swag, and Traxxis RC trucks to race. BDS Suspension set up near the pits to talk to race fans and offer up event specials. A big thanks to those that stopped by the booth to say hi, we had a blast and can’t wait to make it back to the Big House aka Crandon International Raceway.
