Late last year in preparation for the 2018 SEMA Show, the crew from Air Designs got their hands on the new 2019 Ford Ranger to transform it into their take on the Raptor Ranger, a midsize truck many of us are envious of although not offered here in North America. Starting with the clean slate new Ranger, the team designed an offroad body kit complete with fender flares, hood scoop, body cladding and bumper accents to give their truck a mean appearance all color matched in a gloss black/white pattern. The setup allows for additional Rigid lighting to be added for improved visibility. From there they suspension was upgraded to a BDS 2.5" UCA Lift System with prototype FOX coilovers and shocks to make room for the 33" Nitto Ridge Grapplers on 20" Fuel wheels. To get more power and sound out of the 2.3L EcoBoost engine a Borla exhaust system was added. Very cool build, check it out in action:
Ultra4 Racing is an unlimited, 4-wheel drive, endurance racing challenge that takes place anywhere from the trails of the Hammers, to the barren wasteland of Nevada, to the hills of Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Kentucky. These are some of the baddest and toughest races on the planet. We are proud BDS Suspension‘s sponsored driver and owner of Tilden Motorsports, Kevin Stearns, who finished 3rd in this race that was at the Wild West Motorsports Park over the weekend.
Kevin raced well in this past weekends race. While there were some set backs in the qualifying race, where Stearns had a hand injury, he was still able to come from the back and finish in 6th. In the main event Stearns, again, had a setback where he lost power steering. Stearns continued to push as hard as possible for 4 laps and it paid off as he was able to manage a podium finish.
While watching this race you can really see the toughness of the course. The rock obstacles, the blind jumps, and King Hill, which caused a lot of troubles during the races. These drivers have to have top of the line builds in order to clear some of these obstacles along with being quick to take action and find the best path to get over them.
Again, congratulations Kevin on a job well done. You fought to the end and we were excited to be rooting you on. If you’re attending SEMA be sure to check out the racing rig at our booth.

Crandon is one of those special places. The sights, the sounds, the feeling of being just feet from a herd of 700+ hp short course trucks coming around the corner at the Big House. Now Crandon International Off-Road Raceway on Labor Day weekend when the World Championship Racing is in town, how could you pass up on an event like that. Well we couldn’t resist either so BDS loaded up for the weekend of racing and made our way north our of Michigan for Crandon, WI. The Big House, as its known, had a sold out crowd as the show came to town. The air was filled with high octane excitement as race fans came to cheer on their favorite drivers. The BDS booth stayed busy as many stopped by between heats to check out the products and see what specials we had going on. The BDS Dodge gets attention everywhere it goes and this weekend was no exception.
But now to the racing action; the weekend started off great with an awesome cup race sponsored by B&L Sand Toys and BDS Suspension. Congratulations to Charlie Wilson for winning the cup and taking home the trophy along with the $1500 in BDS gear. Following those races the Stadium Super Trucks from Robby Gordon’s camp took to the track putting on one heck of a show before the main other classes hit the dirt. Congrats to CJ Greaves (Amsoil Cup & Pro Light), Rob MacCachren (Pro 4×4), Jeff Kincaid (Pro 2WD), Brad Morris (Pro Buggy), Bob Gremler Jr (Super Truck), Danny Beauchamp (Super Stock Truck), Greg Stingle (1600 Light Buggy), Mark Steinhardt (1600 Buggy), Bradley Lamarche (Formula 4×4), Scott Mueller (Classix), Cory Marquardt (Stock Truck), Myles Cheek (Trophy Kart). It was an awesome weekend of racing, despite the torrential down poor and some flooding in the pits Sunday, but the track crews worked feverishly to drain the water and prep the track for the racing to resume at noon. After the big cleanup racing resumed with all the excitement that Cradon is known for. One of the highlights included the night wrapped up with the Greeve boys finishing #1 and #2 in final race. We will definitely be going back next season, if you haven’t experienced it then add it to your bucket list. (To see more photos, head to the BDS Facebook Page).

Coldwater, MI—July 31, 2013—After months of development with Fox Racing, BDS Suspension has released a performance version of the 6″ performance lift kit for 2006-2013 Ram 1500s that features Fox 2.5 remote reservoir coil-overs and rear Fox 2.0 shocks to up the ante or your late model Rams off-road performance. Whether you looking to charge the open desert or need a suspension system able to tackle a variety of terrains, the BDS 6″ Performance Series System is made for you.
The Fox Racing 2.5″ remote reservoir coil-overs feature:
These new coil-overs are available as an upgrade for current BDS Ram 1/2-ton lift kits or as a complete 6″ performance suspension system. Matched with a pair of Fox 2.0 rear shocks, these coil-overs drastically improve the ride and performance of your BDS lifted Ram 1500. Installation is a breeze with the coil-overs coming pre-tuned to offer proper ride height right out of the box with brackets included to mount the remote reservoir.
BDS’s unique high clearance suspension design is a true blend of performance, function, and appearance. Suspension geometry of this 6″ lift kit creates a factory style ride. The black powdercoated high arched crossmembers blend perfectly with the angle of the factory installed lower control arms for a completely integrated look while providing a full 6″ of lift and increasing ground clearance.
Also included are a pair of stout CNC-machined ductile iron steering knuckles to work with factory ESP, differential drop brackets and heavy duty skid plate, bump stop extensions, front Fox Racing 2.5″ remote reservoir coil-overs, and rear Fox 2.0 performance shocks. Rear pro-ride coil springs, track bar bracket, and upper link relocation brackets and sway bar links (’09-13) or your choice of rear blocks or Glide Ride leaf springs (’06-08) round out the rear components and give clearance for up to 37″ tires. Take your late model Ram truck to a whole new level with BDS Suspension and Fox Racing Shox.
