2-3" Coilover Conversion Systems: For years now, Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra/Denali HD owners have been limited to the traditional torsion bar system suspension options. BDS Suspension is excited to add next level technology for improved performance. Adding to the current 4.5" and 6.5" high clearance no torsion bar drop systems offered for 2011+ Chevy/GMC HD trucks, BDS is now shipping a 2-3" coilover conversion systems for superior ride quality and performance over any terrain. These new coilover systems have been engineered and tested for improved comfort, fade free performance, and increased suspension travel.

The new 2-3" coilover system is a game changer for HD performance. At the heart of the system is a pair of FOX 2.5 Factory Series Coilover with remote DSC reservoir. These coilovers offer vastly superior dampening for impressive capability to soak up the harshest terrains offroad while offering comfort on your daily commute. These FOX coilovers feature a smooth bore and honed seamless alloy body, 7/8" hardened stainless steel shaft, FOX coil springs, black anodized machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum mounts and FOX’s DSC (dual speed compression) adjustment technology. DSC is the next big thing in suspension performance allowing for easy adjustment of the vehicle’s suspension compression dampening to dial in the ideal ride performance to soak up the bumps, both large and small. The DSC has 12 adjustment points for the high speed compression as well as 10 adjustment points for the low speed compression allowing you to make large or small changes to further improve your performance. Adjustments can be made by simply twisting the "blue" high speed and "gold" low speed compression knobs located on the end of the remote reservoir of the FOX 2.5 coilovers. No tools or shop adjustments needed, allowing you to tune the suspension out on the trail. The coilovers come fully assembled, preset for 2.5" of lift for optimal wheel travel, but can be adjusted between 2-3" of lift with the use of (#129600) spanner wrench. To mount the coilovers BDS supplies a bolt-on bracket that installs on the frame in the shock mount location. A weld-in support gusset is used to reinforce the upper mount, however still allows the kit to be completely reversible if the owner ever chooses to revert back to the torsion bar style suspension and upgrade the suspension on another truck.

In addition to replacing the factory torsion bars, the upper and lower control arms are upgraded to improved strength, travel, and accommodate the new coilovers. The new performance series upper control arms are designed specifically for this system to integrate with the 2.5 coilovers. The arms are fabricated from large 1.5" OD x .120-wall tubing, fully TIG welded for the highest quality, strength and durability. The arms utilize premium Moog brand ball joints and factory style rubber bushings for smooth, quiet operation and superior durability when compared to arms with uni-balls, poly bushings or heims. The ball joint cups are repositioned for optimal performance allowing a 30% improvement in wheel travel. These upper control arms are finished in a durable black powdercoat and include a billet aluminum ball joint dust cap. The control arms come fully assembled for easy install right out of the box. To compliment the uppers, the new lower control arms are built from high strength steel, fully boxed with internally gusseted. These lower arms integrate new reinforced lower coilover mounts and similar to the uppers use durometer specific rubber bushings at the frame mount and high quality Moog ball joints at the knuckle mount for quiet, low maintenance operation.

Rounding out the front suspension BDS supplies front differential relocation to correct CV axle operating angle to optimize CV performance. The relocation hardware installs easily with no differential modification needed while also allowing the reinstallation of the factory skid plate. Longer sway bar links are also included and bolt directly in place of the factory links to correct sway bar operating angle.

In the rear, BDS offers a simple block and u-bolt kit that retains ride quality and full use of the factory overload spring (if equipped). The rear comes standard with precision tuned FOX 2.0 IFP gas shocks and is available with optional FOX factory series 2.5 reservoir shocks to further improve performance. Additional options and accessories are in development; stay tuned for more information as new products are released. The system allows for 33-34’’ tires to be installed with minor trimming 35’’ tires with moderate trimming.

Ford Super Duty C/O Lift Kits: BDS Suspension adds to its extensive lineup of coilover suspension systems with new 6″ DSC Coilover 4-Link Systems for the 2011-2016 Ford F250/F350 Super Duty 4WD diesel trucks. Designed to allow the installation of Fox 2.5 factory series DSC remote reservoir coilovers, this new system far surpasses the performance and capability of your Super Duty’s stock suspension with more stability, improved handling, and better dampening in any terrain. Michigan built and Moab tested, these new coilover conversion 4-link systems are built to perform.

The system utilizes a pair of Fox 2.5 factory series remote DSC coilovers tuned specifically to optimize suspension performance on the diesel equipped Ford Super Duty. The 8″ travel coilovers feature a smooth bore and honed seamless alloy body, 7/8″ hardened steel carbon shaft, Eibach coil springs, black anodized machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum mounts and FOX’s DSC (dual speed compression) adjustment technology. DSC is the next big thing in suspension performance allowing for easy adjustment of the your truck’s suspension compression dampening so you can dial in the ideal ride performance to soak up the bumps, both large and small. The DSC has 12 adjustment points for the high speed compression as well as 10 adjustment points for the low speed compression allowing you to make large or small changes to further improve your performance. Adjustments can be made by simply twisting the “blue” high speed and “gold” low speed compression knobs located on the end of the remote reservoir of the FOX 2.5 coilovers. No tools or shop adjustments needed, allowing you to tune the suspension out on the trail.

The key to mounting these new DSC coilovers are the new brackets supplied by BDS. In place of the factory stamped steel coil buckets BDS includes a pair of the massive 1/4″ thick steel, gusseted construction coilover mounting brackets designed to bolt in place using the factory frame holes. This provides a stout mounting point for the new Fox 2.5 coilovers with provisions for the remote reservoirs as well as an auxiliary shock. The auxiliary shock mount will accept anything from the supplied Fox 2.0 Performance series shocks up to the massive 3.0 Fox Factory series cylinders. At the axle, new double-shear C/O mounting brackets bolt in for a direct replacement to the factory coil seats.  All brackets are finished in a durable textured black powder coat finish with integrated mounting tabs to retain the factory brake and ABS lines. 

To complement the increased performance of the new coilovers, BDS designed the kit around the popular BDS 4-link conversion to upgrade the stock stamped steel factory radius arms.  The BDS Super Duty 4-Link conversion has long been a popular solution for 2005-2016 Super Duty owners looking to improve their trucks drivability and performance. The full replacement 4-link frame brackets bolt into factory holes and create a solid mounting location for the massive tubular 4-link arms.  These arms allow the front suspension geometry to be optimized for control and handling through all types of terrain. The front portion of the lift system also includes a forged drop pitman arm and front track bar relocation bracket to correct steering and track bar angles as well as to center the axle under the vehicle.  Front bump stop extensions, sway bar drops, and brake line relocation brackets round out the front of this system.  In the rear, full replacement BDS Glideride leaf springs provide the lift needed to level and level the stance. The springs are a 5-leaf design with built in overload leaf to assist when carrying heavy loads. New black e-coated u-bolts, brake line brackets and Fox 2.0 performance gas shocks are supplied to round out the 6″ coilover conversion 4-link system.

6″ C/O Mount – Aux Shock Dimensions: In the front, the BDS.123612 C/O conversion system includes the necessary small hourglass shock bushings/sleeve (EB1 size) to convert eye-to-eye shocks for proper mounting.   A shock with a minimum of 27.75” extended (eye-to-eye) and maximum of 19.75” collapsed length can be used.  The auxiliary mounting position can handle up to a Fox Factory 3.0 cylinder, including standard and reservoir shock options.

Coldwater, MI— December 4, 2014— Following last week’s announcements of new 6″ and 8″ complete coilover conversion long arm systems now shipping for the 2003-2013 Dodge Ram 2500 and 2003-2012 Dodge Ram 3500 4wd diesel trucks, BDS now offers a coilover upgrade kits for current BDS 6″ and 8″ long arm equipped trucks. This upgrade allows your to convert your progressive rate coil and shock setup over to factory series 2.5″ Fox remote reservoir coilovers pretuned to 6″ or 8″ heights under your RAM trucks. These coilover upgrades take your RAM to the next level in the dirt and on the street to improve vehicle performance across all terrains, allowing you to soak up the high-speed bumps with ease and out flex the competition while offering smooth on-road ride quality and predictable handling characteristics.

The kits include a pair of specially designed Fox 2.5 remote reservoir coilovers designed for the ultimate performance right out of the box. These Fox coilovers feature smooth-bore and honed seamless alloy body with black anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum mounting components and a massive 7/8″ heat treated steel carbon shaft. The coilover uses a high flow piston design with specially formulated race oil for better performance at extreme operating temps. A 2.5″ smooth bore and honed seamless alloy reservoir allows for increased fluid capacity for better heat dispersion and mounts above the coilover using the supplied mounting brackets. Both 6″ and 8″ height coilovers use 3″ Eibach coil springs for long lasting performance and maximum travel. In addition the 6″ height coilovers utilize an additional tender coil to allow a full 10″ of travel. Both the 6″ and 8″ coilovers come pretuned and allow you to install them right out of the box. Both coilover setup have an adjustable preload collar allowing them to be raised or lowered to compensate for aftermarket accessories or to get a bit more height out of the suspension.

These coilovers are built for high performance with the weight of Cummins-powered RAM trucks and install in place of the coil springs using BDS’s new heavy duty upper and lower mounting brackets. These new upper towers are laser cut and fully welded to create a sturdy top mount at the frame with room for the reservoir. The lower mounts uses weld-in reinforcement tabs on the axle to hold up to whatever abuse your RAM HD is subjected to offroad. Coldwater, MI—July 31, 2013—After months of development with Fox Racing, BDS Suspension has released a performance version of the 6″ performance lift kit for 2006-2013 Ram 1500s that features Fox 2.5 remote reservoir coil-overs and rear Fox 2.0 shocks to up the ante or your late model Rams off-road performance. Whether you looking to charge the open desert or need a suspension system able to tackle a variety of terrains, the BDS 6″ Performance Series System is made for you.

The Fox Racing 2.5″ remote reservoir coil-overs feature:

  • Smooth-bore, clear coated, zinc plated alloy body
  • Black anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum mounting components
  • 7/8″ hard chrome plated heat treated alloy steel shaft
  • High flow piston design with specially formulated race oil
  • External reservoir separates shock oil from high-pressure nitrogen

These new coil-overs are available as an upgrade for current BDS Ram 1/2-ton lift kits or as a complete 6″ performance suspension system. Matched with a pair of Fox 2.0 rear shocks, these coil-overs drastically improve the ride and performance of your BDS lifted Ram 1500. Installation is a breeze with the coil-overs coming pre-tuned to offer proper ride height right out of the box with brackets included to mount the remote reservoir.

BDS’s unique high clearance suspension design is a true blend of performance, function, and appearance. Suspension geometry of this 6″ lift kit creates a factory style ride. The black powdercoated high arched crossmembers blend perfectly with the angle of the factory installed lower control arms for a completely integrated look while providing a full 6″ of lift and increasing ground clearance.

Also included are a pair of stout CNC-machined ductile iron steering knuckles to work with factory ESP, differential drop brackets and heavy duty skid plate, bump stop extensions, front Fox Racing 2.5″ remote reservoir coil-overs, and rear Fox 2.0 performance shocks. Rear pro-ride coil springs, track bar bracket, and upper link relocation brackets and sway bar links (’09-13) or your choice of rear blocks or Glide Ride leaf springs (’06-08) round out the rear components and give clearance for up to 37″ tires. BDS Project KJ

BDS Project KJ Progress, Rear Fabrication

This week the guys are fabbing up the rear of the KJ. After discussing the options to mount the rear suspension, roll cage, spare tire, fuel cell, dual batteries, air compressor, and more into the rear of this Liberty, the decision was made to remove the OE trunk floor and build a new subfloor that will act as a skid plate and give us additional storage space.  We’ve seen some comments on the message boards about not much Liberty left, and this week’s update won’t help our case. That being said the guys are making progress and while the visual of the rear layout may not make total sense yet, it should as they fab work comes together. The plan is to build a fuel cell to mount at the bottom of the subfloor. It will be taller on the driver’s side to incorporate additional fuel storage and allow us to reinstall the OE fuel sending unit and OE filler door location. Dual batteries will be mounted driver’s side forward of the fuel cell, air compressor mounted on the passenger side. Spare tire will be mounted at slant and additional space will be allotted for tool storage and spare parts.
