5.5″ Colorado/Canyon Coilover Lift Kits: BDS raises the bar once again with new 5.5″ Performance Coilover Systems for the 2015-2016 Colorado/Canyon. Designed around the tried-and-true steering knuckle and crossmember technology, these kits provide enough lift fit 33″ tires while maintaining the OE suspension geometry for smooth handling and ride characteristics. Along with the rugged, high clearance design to maximize ground clearance, this new system has passed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No.126 and has been independently certified to not adversely effect the vehicles factory installed electronic stability control system with the lift installed. That combined with BDS No Fine Print Warranty and a 5-year 60,000-mile drivetrain warranty gives you the peace of mind wherever and however you use and abuse your truck.

This system uses a pair of heavy duty 1/4″ steel high clearance crossmembers to reposition the lower control arms and work in unison with the massive ductile cast iron extended steering knuckles. The crossmembers utilize the factory alignment eccentrics and tie together with a full-width skid plate. The skid plate protects vital front end components for offroad use and ties the crossmembers together for a extremely rigid subframe. The front differential is relocated to keep CV axle angles at a minimum and function properly with the supplied transfer case indexing ring. This allows for the use of the factory front driveline once lifted. Front bump stop extension and sway bar links are included as well as new heavy duty Moog tie rod ends to properly set alignment without trimming the inner tie rods. In place of the factory struts this system uses precision tuned FOX 2.5 remote reservoir coilovers. The FOX 2.5 remote reservoir coilovers are built to perform right out of the box. They feature:

  • Smooth-bore, clear coated, zinc plated alloy body
  • Black anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum mounting components
  • 7/8″ hard chrome plated heat treated alloy steel shaft
  • High flow piston design with specially formulated race oil
  • External reservoir separates shock oil from high-pressure nitrogen
  • Easy bolt-on installation, coil spring preload set for proper ride height out of the box

Finishing off this new 5.5″ coilover system, a 4″ rear block/u-bolt kit sets the new ride height and levels the stance. Specially tuned FOX 2.0 series IFP gas shocks are supplied to compliment the front coilovers and improve the Colorado/Canyon’s performance on or offroad. While the kits have not been test fit on the soon to be released 2.8L Duramax equipped trucks, it has been approved for use on the 2015-2016 gas model trucks and improves performance across any terrain and allows owners to install 33″ tires.

4″ Ford F150 DSC Coilover Lift Kits: This new 4″ DSC Coilover System takes your trucks performance to the next level for great on road handling and easy tuning to maximize the coilover performance for any terrain. The complete DSC coilover system uses a pair of heavy duty 1/4″ steel high clearance crossmembers to reposition the lower control arms and work in unison with the massive ductile cast iron extended steering knuckles. A heavy duty differential skid plate protects vital front end components for offroad use and ties the crossmembers together for a extremely rigid subframe. The front differential is relocated to keep CV axle angles at a minimum and function properly and a bolt-in differential support bracket is used supplied for extra security. Also included are remote reservoir mounting brackets, bump stop extensions, sway bar relocation brackets, new alignment cam bolts, billet aluminum front driveshaft spacer and the FOX 2.5 remote coilovers with DSC technology.

DSC (dual speed compression) is the next big thing allowing for easy adjustment of the your truck’s suspension compression dampening allowing you to dial in the ideal ride performance soaking up bumps large and small. The DSC has 12 adjustment points for the high speed compression as well as 10 adjustment points for the low speed compression allowing you to make large or small changes to further improve your performance. Adjustments can be made by simply twisting the “blue” high speed and “gold” low speed compression knobs located on the end of the remote reservoir of the FOX 2.5 coilovers. No tools or shop adjustments needed, allowing you to tune the suspension out on the trail.

Finishing off this new 4″ DSC coilover system is a 4″ rear dual block/u-bolt kit to replace the factory block and provide a slightly tail high stance. Brake line and brake brackets are also supplied along with a pair of specially tuned FOX 2.0 series IFP gas shocks to compliment the front coilovers and improve the truck’s performance on or offroad.

Important Kit Notes:
1) Requires frame bracket modification and welding.
2) 18′ or larger wheels required. Stock 17′ and 18′ wheels cannot be reinstalled. Stock 20s can be used with up to a 305/60r20 tire.
3) 18′ wheels with 5-5.5′ backspacing should be dry fit prior to mounting to ensure proper clearance to BDS steering knuckles.
4) E-brake bracket required for factory power steps (#123018)

We’ll admit it, we’re obsessed with it. Dreamt up by the masterminds at Seaside Muffler & Offroad this gorgeous 2012 RAM 3500 commands respect for the craftsmanship and is a show stopper every time it goes out. Dubbed Project “Obsessed”, Tim and Danielle Wing put their heart and soul into this build transforming this run of the mill Megacab RAM into the monster it is today within a short 2-month timeline to debut it at the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Using a clean silver/purple color scheme throughout the build this truck has several styling and performance upgrades including Road Armor stealth bumpers, Royalty Core grille, Plain N Simple headlights and a plethora of tastefully installed Rigid LEDs in the bumper, headlights, and up on the windshield. The new stance comes from BDS Suspension with the purple powder coated 8” Performance Coilover Long Arm System modified up to 12” of lift for ample clearance for the 40×15.50×24 Toyo M/Ts mounted up on 24×14 American Force Thors. The suspension features Fox 2.5 remote coilovers adjusted up to 12” of lift, 4-link long arms, BDS adjustable track bar, BDS dual steering stabilizer, BDS rear leafs + blocks, BDS traction bars, and dual rear Fox 2.0 shocks. AVS flares and were added to the fenders along with Amp Research powersteps to ease cab access in this RAM. Inside the factory black leather and wood trimmed dash have Recon LEDs and touch screen navigation. Out back a Bed Rug bedliner and Lund tonneau cover, Recon/Plain N Simple taillights, Road Armor rear bumper and Rigid D2 lights were added.

Under the hood the stock 6.7L Cummins received an Airaid cold air intake, H&S mini maxx programmer and EGR delete, ARP 625+ head studs, and 5” Flo-Pro stainless steel exhaust for a dyno’d 495 hp and 1102 ft-lbs of torque out of the straight 6 coal burner. The stock 68RFE transmission received a Mag Hytec trans pan and the stock diff covers were upgraded to Mag Hytec units as well.

Obsessed is an amazing build that has already received attention from several publications. It has the cover feature in the March 2015 issue 8Lug Magazine and several other features coming up. Coldwater, MI— December 4, 2014— Following last week’s announcements of new 6″ and 8″ complete coilover conversion long arm systems now shipping for the 2003-2013 Dodge Ram 2500 and 2003-2012 Dodge Ram 3500 4wd diesel trucks, BDS now offers a coilover upgrade kits for current BDS 6″ and 8″ long arm equipped trucks. This upgrade allows your to convert your progressive rate coil and shock setup over to factory series 2.5″ Fox remote reservoir coilovers pretuned to 6″ or 8″ heights under your RAM trucks. These coilover upgrades take your RAM to the next level in the dirt and on the street to improve vehicle performance across all terrains, allowing you to soak up the high-speed bumps with ease and out flex the competition while offering smooth on-road ride quality and predictable handling characteristics.

The kits include a pair of specially designed Fox 2.5 remote reservoir coilovers designed for the ultimate performance right out of the box. These Fox coilovers feature smooth-bore and honed seamless alloy body with black anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum mounting components and a massive 7/8″ heat treated steel carbon shaft. The coilover uses a high flow piston design with specially formulated race oil for better performance at extreme operating temps. A 2.5″ smooth bore and honed seamless alloy reservoir allows for increased fluid capacity for better heat dispersion and mounts above the coilover using the supplied mounting brackets. Both 6″ and 8″ height coilovers use 3″ Eibach coil springs for long lasting performance and maximum travel. In addition the 6″ height coilovers utilize an additional tender coil to allow a full 10″ of travel. Both the 6″ and 8″ coilovers come pretuned and allow you to install them right out of the box. Both coilover setup have an adjustable preload collar allowing them to be raised or lowered to compensate for aftermarket accessories or to get a bit more height out of the suspension.

These coilovers are built for high performance with the weight of Cummins-powered RAM trucks and install in place of the coil springs using BDS’s new heavy duty upper and lower mounting brackets. These new upper towers are laser cut and fully welded to create a sturdy top mount at the frame with room for the reservoir. The lower mounts uses weld-in reinforcement tabs on the axle to hold up to whatever abuse your RAM HD is subjected to offroad.
