Project Trucks: Tim’s Tundra aka the Silver Bullet

Each year the SEMA Show is flooded with amazing automobiles, lifted trucks, lower street rods, resto-mod classics and late model monsters all in the name of automotive customization. There’s something for everyone’s taste from the insanely built and over-the-top to capable daily drivers. BDS Suspension attends this annual show out in Las Vegas and continues to make a statement with show vehicles scattered throughout the show grounds on display in exhibitor booths and featured vehicle spots.

One of the trucks on display that we’ve been trying to catch up with to feature is Tim Grachen’s stunning 2012 Toyota Tundra, he dubbed the Silver Bullet. The truck features a slew of mods to improve the stance, appearance, and performance making this one bad ass truck.

Up front the Silver Bullet received Cali Retrofits colormatched headlights with FXR projectors, TRS HIDs and blue demon eyes. The stock chrome bumpers and grille shell were painted silver to match and a T-Rex x-metal mesh grille insert set off the front of this Tundra. The elevated stance comes from a BDS 7” Performance Coilover System featuring Fox 2.5 remote coilvers for the ultimate on/off-road performance. A Hellwig rear sway bar was installed to stiffen up the rear along with Fox 2.0 shocks for improved offroad dampening. For tires, Tim went with 37×13.50 Toyo M/Ts and mounted them on a set of 20×10 KMC XD Series Heists. R1Concepts drilled and slotted rotors were installed to improve stopping power and EGR bolt style flares were fitted next and give extra coverage for the oversized tires. Up top a roof mounted NBQ Motorsports rack was installed for extra storage along with Vision X 4.5” LED lighting to improve trail visibility when Tim is charging through the open desert. Out back the bed was lined by Bedrug and capped off by an Undercover LUX tonneau cover. Spyder Auto smoked LED taillights were swapped in along with Spyder Industries big haas recovery hook and Vision X reverse lights. Go Rhino steps were fitted to make cab access easier and inside the truck was transformed using Roadwire leather/suede seats, Huskyliner floormats, LED gauges and lighting, Kenwood head unit and Vibe Audio sound system. A Bully Dog GT T+ monitor is dash mounted and hints retunes the stock 5.7L V8. Additionally, the motor received add-ons from an S&B cold air intake, Doug Thorley short tube headers, and a  Gibson metal mulisha exhaust system.

Tim’s Silver Bullet Tundra is a great example of clean and capable rig built to be right at home on the street or trail. For more on this rig head to BDS’s Facebook Page or check out Project Silver Bullet on Instagram.
