The 2019 Mint 400 was another successful event filled with spectators from all over the country, parades, and plenty of racing.  One of the biggest thrills of the weekend was when Justin Lofton made history with his 3rd BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 Victory. You can find out more on this historic moment here.

We were fortunate to have had a great location right on the corner of Fremont Street. Our sister company, RT Pro was able to join us at the event where we had some sweet rigs stationed at the booth that caught the eyes of those who passed by. We had the Polaris 170 for the kids, the Can-am X3RS for the adults, Project Ascension showing off one of our coilover conversion systems, our 2019 Ford Ranger SEMA build, known as #ProjectRangerX , and finally we partnered up with Napier Outdoors by allowing them to showcase one of their tents on the back of Project Ascension. This attention-drawing booth was a hit and we enjoyed getting the opportunity to talk to everyone that stopped by.

When it comes to offroading, BDS Suspension is always looking for the toughest terrain to put our brand to the test. King of The Hammers is one of those races that hits the mark when it comes to pushing systems to their max. Each year King of The Hammers draws in nearly 1,000 competitors take to the course to prove they can finish the most grueling one-day offroad race in the world. King of the Hammers 2019 will be held February 1st -9th in Johnson Valley, California.

Just a couple weeks out, before the desert floor rumbles and the horsepower flies. King of The Hammers

Over the past few weeks driver, Kevin Stearns and the crew at Tilden Motorsports / Pacific Fabrication has been busy getting their BDS-Sponsored 4500-class car ready for the Every Man Challenge Race (EMC) as well as the RT Pro RZR 1000 that will be pre-running the desert section of the course. This race brings nearly 1,000 competitors racing in multiple classes and nearly 65,000 spectators out on the lake-bed known as Hammertown. The week is filled with events, competitions, vendor show, and qualifying all leading up to the main races. With over 160-miles of rocks and open desert in for the 4400class and shorter distances for the others, King of the Hammers was truly become the ultimate test of man (or woman) and machine.

It’s always a honor when we get a special visitor to our home base here in Coldwater, MI, but this past Friday the excitement radiated throughout the town when a Michigan State Congressman, Tim Walberg, came to visit our facilities.

Tim Walberg is the State Congressman Representative for the 7th District of Michigan. When he heard of how fast Sport Truck USA and its brands -BDS Suspension, JKS Manufacturing, RT Pro UTV, Zone Offroad, and Posi-Lok 4×4, has grown and is projecting to grow he wanted to know more about what we were doing and how he can help to represent companies like ours.

Walberg’s visit also included meeting some of our top leaders within the company:  Mark Meldrum, President, Matt Everline, Director of Operations and Engineering, and Steve Rutz, Controller. These three gentlemen escorted Walberg around and were able to give some great insight on the company.

When Walberg arrived he was briefed on the company with a video of the company’s history. We were able to tour three of our six buildings: the main building, the Research & Development building, and the media building which is still under construction. While down at R&D Walberg got a sneak peak at our SEMA build, he was impressed to say the least.

It is always a great feeling to be recognized by the government. For someone to want to come see the impact that our company has made within our community is something we are proud of and we were honored to be recognized for it.
