2014 Dodge Ram 3/4-ton 4WD

Coldwater, MI—March 20, 2014— BDS Suspension has been leading the industry with first to market suspension systems for the redesigned 2014 RAM 2500 4WD trucks. With 2″, 4″, and 6″ radius arm lift kits currently available, BDS offers a variety of options for late model RAM 2500s designed to improve off-road performance while maintaining on-highway drivability.

The latest system to hit the market is a complete 4″ 4-link conversion kit designed to radically improve stability, wheel travel, and handling across all terrains. The 4-link design limits caster change to less than 1-degree of change throughout wheel travel for better steering control and drivability. The heart of the system are a pair of massive frame-mounted brackets engineered to create the optimal suspension geometry when paired with the new upper and lower control arms. The 4-link brackets wrap around the frame and tie into the factory radius arm brackets creating an extremely sturdy mount for the new suspension. Removal of the factory radius arm brackets is not needed allowing for a speedy install.

The upper and lower control arms are built from 2″ OD x 3/16″ wall DOM tubing for the strength to take any abuse you can throw at them. They utilize large 2.5″ OD greaseable polyurethane bushings to isolate road vibrations and are formed inward to allow for extra tire clearance. They are designed to reposition the front axle slightly forward for increase tire clearance to the backside of the front fenders and come in a durable textured black powdercoat finish.

In addition to the 4-link conversion, the kit includes everything needed to properly lift the new 2014 RAM 2500 trucks and clear up to 37″ tires. The additional height comes from a pair of specially designed progressive rate ProRide coil springs. The coils have been engineered and tested to improve the ride quality and performance across all terrains while holding up to the rigors that RAM truck owners demand. Due to the unique factory coil mount design on the new radius arm equipped trucks, BDS has developed left and right side-specific coils to improve performance and eliminate coil bowing. Also up front, a heavy duty fabricated front track bar bracket to recenter the front axle as well as a forged drop pitman arm and black e-coated brake line relocation hardware are included to reposition all steering and brake components.

Out back, the new multi-link coil sprung suspension is modified to lift and level the stance. Rear 2.5″ progressive rate ProRide coil springs were specially engineered to offer impressive ride quality on highway while handling the abuse of heavy loads and offroad adventures. The 2.5″ coils level the stance and are guaranteed never to sag. To recenter the rear axle, an axle mounted heavy duty track bar relocation bracket is used along with a pair of extended sway bar links to keep the rear sway bar at the optimum operating angle. Rear bump stop extensions are included as well as your choice of BDS-5500 hydraulic or Fox 2.0 performance gas shocks at all 4 corners for an improved performance on and offroad.

Available Accessories

BDS is also offering a number of accessories to fit the new 2014 RAM 2500 trucks. Both single and dual steering stabilizer kit are available to meet your on-road and off-road performance needs. Available in both 5500-series (white body) and 9500-series (brushed stainless body) the stabilizers improve drivability by reducing front end shimmy caused by oversized tires and mount above the tie-rod for extra protection when offroad. In addition to steering stabilizers, BDS offers a heavy duty adjustable front track bar to allow you to dial in the the front axle positioning. Constructed from 1-3/8″ solid steel stock this new adjustable track bar is built to handle on and off-road abuse and uses a 1-3/8″-12 fine threaded pinch bolt design turnbuckle to allow easy tuning to properly recenter the front axle for a range of lift heights. The track bar is formed for proper clearance around critical front end components and features gusseted ends for additional rigidity. The ends utilize high-durometer polyurethane bushings with thick-walled steel sleeves for strength and reliability.
