Coldwater, MI: BDS Suspension expands its listings for the late model 2019+ RAM 2500 4WD Diesel trucks with new 4" radius arm systems that are on the shelf ready to ship. Designed to improve the looks and performance of your new RAM, these kits include everything necessary to correctly lift them for improved offroad capability with room for larger tires while maintaining on-road handling.

Up front these systems use a pair of (diesel specific) progressive rate 4" coil springs to provide the extra height and smooth controlled performance in the harshest of terrains. A forged drop pitman arm is supplied to correct steering angles along with a HD bar drop bracket to re-center the front axle. A pair of sway bar drop brackets reposition the OE sway bar for optimal performance along with extended polyurethane bump stops to limit up travel and brake line brackets to allow full droop. To correct the front suspension geometry at the new height a pair of heavy duty replacement radius arms that bolt directly into the factory location. These new radius arms are massive upgrade to the factory stamped units, using tubular construction and a lower cam adjustment to dial in front end caster. Also supplied are your choice of BDS NX2 gas shocks or FOX 2.0 performance series IFP gas shocks for improved ride and performance.

At 4" of lift it is critical to correct the front driveline angle to maintain use of the 4WD. To do this BDS Suspension provides a heavy duty replacement transmission crossmember as well as a transfer case indexing ring to reposition the front driveline output to allow use of the factory drivelines. In the rear of the RAM 2500 kits 2.5" progressive rate coil springs are supplied to level out the stance and improve capability across all terrains without affecting load capacity. Extended rear sway bar end links and new bump stops are included to compensate for the lift along with a track bar bracket to re-center the rear axle. Finishing out the rear are a matching set of BDS NX2 gas shocks or FOX 2.0 performance series IFP gas shocks. As with all BDS Suspension kits these include Factory Protection Plus for a limited lifetime warranty, ESC System compatibility, and 5-year, 100,000-mile drivetrain warranty. Get the look and the ride you are after with these new 4" radius arm systems from BDS Suspension.

BDS Project Go Beyond

Overlanding...  a popular buzzword these days when it comes to getting outdoors and going offroad. Designed to haul all your gear, food, sleeping quarters, spare parts and more what used to be camping has grown into so much more. Overlanding can be done on a budget with a rusted out old truck or Jeep and basic amenities or it can be unattainable to most as is the case with something like an EarthRoamer. There's an option for everyone and for most its finding somewhere in between, starting with a comfortable, capable 4x4 and adding the must-haves, tent, recovery gear, extra storage, mild lift kit and larger tires.

For the team at BDS, when it came time to add a vehicle to the company fleet they knew they wanted to build an overlander. Something both practical and attention grabbing, something capable off the grid or extended periods of time while being comfortable for long highway commutes. The Ford Super Duty is the perfect platform to start with, with a strong fully boxed frame, solid front and rear axles, huge carrying capacity, workhorse of a diesel motor and ample aftermarket product support. With the opportunity to get their hands on a new 2020 F350 Super Duty months ahead of the public, the team sent out to overhaul this new truck to be the first and most extreme overlanding 2020 Super Duty build to date, a project code name Project Go Beyond.

Basic specs:
2020 Ford F350 Super Duty XLT 4WD (crew cab, long bed)
6.7L Powerstroke Diesel, 10speed Transmission, 2-speed T-case

Getting Started...

With the truck on site in early September the team got to work tearing down the stock truck, pulling the grille, fenders, bumpers, bed, seats, stereo, fuel tank, exhaust, and suspension out of the truck to make way for the upgrades. First up to get installed was the suspension. An off the shelf BDS 4" radius arm coilover system was bolted on to improve performance and give this truck some extra clearance for the massive 40" tires planned. This kit features BDS's heavy duty tubular radius arms, DSC coilovers, track bar and pitman arm for steering correction, dual front stabilizer kit, Glideride rear leaf springs and Recoil traction bars.

Once the lift kit was installed the team turned their attention to the fuel tank unbolting the stock 34 gallon tank and replacing it with a Titan Tank 65 gallon direct fit replacement. This nearly doubles the range for long excursions and bolts right into the OE location. From there the team moved onto test fitment of the Knapheide aluminum service box. Typically used on fleet service trucks, its an interesting concept to utilize the ample storage and see how they cross over to overlanding needs. These service boxes are readily available and a fraction of the cost of most "overland tray/box combos on the market.

With the suspension, fuel tank and service box fitted calls are being made, measurements are being taken, plans are being formulated and orders are being placed to get ready for the next steps of this build. Stay tuned for the next installment of build coverage in Episode 2 and be sure to follow along on Facebook and Instagram for sneak peeks of the progress.

With SEMA right around the corner the team at BDS is busy overhauling their latest project vehicle. Over the years they've built some wicked rides, outfitted to be right at home on the trail and on the highway. From one off Jeeps to off-the-shelf Chevy HDs and a handful of Fords, BDS continues to use these SEMA opportunities to show off their design and fabrication skills as well as highlight key products available on the market. Check out some of our past build threads:

This year the team is building an overlander, a low slung rig built for long adventures of back country exploration, camping and self sufficient when getting off the grid away. So what's your guess, what vehicle did BDS choose to be their ultimate overlander???

Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks as this build comes together to debut at the 2019 SEMA Show. #ProjectGoBeyond

Project trucks can come in many forms. Some a garage built weekend warriors, while others are purpose built. Some will spend their life on the trail while others may be mall crawled and built to showcase new and innovative products at SEMA. For the BDS #everydaychase F250 it started life a bit differently. The first 3 years of its life was spent as your average daily driven diesel tow rig. The 2011 Ford F250 Super Duty Lariat was sold at auction where we purchased it and had it delivered to the offices of RTM Productions, home of PowerNation TV and more specifically Ian Johnson of the popular 4x4 build show Xtreme Offroad. Ian had big plans for the truck and wanted to show his audience how to build a bad ass chase truck inspired daily driver built primarily from easy to find bolt-on components.

After taking delivery, Ian made some calls to order parts for the build. The plan was to install BDS's new 6'' Coilover Conversion 4-Link System which would allow for larger wheels and tires, heavy duty front bumper and winch, LED lights, steps, better brakes and additional storage. The initial build sheet consisted of:

2011 Ford Super Duty Lariat 4wd - Diesel
BDS 6'' 4Link System w/ Fox  2.5 coilover upgrade and rear leaf springs (#596F)
BDS dual steering stabilizer w/ Fox 2.0s (#55358/98224019)
37x12.50x20 Dick Cepek Fun Country tires (#90000001936)
20x9 Raceline Havoc wheels (#925M-29081-00)
ARB Modular Bull Bar - Safari Style (#2236020)
ARB Intensity 7.25'' LED Lights (#AR21S)
Warn Zeon 10S Winch (#89611)
Amp Research Powersteps (#75134-01A)
Rackworks 47x59'' Rubicon Series Cargo Rack (#RW-123445)
Black Knight Lighting 50'' LED Lightbar
Decked Bed Storage System (#DS2)
Powerstop Slotted/Drilled Brakes and Ceramic Pads (#K5459-36)

If you missed the episodes on TV, then check out the online episode to how #everydaychase was built on Xtreme Offroad:
Part 1: Suspension, Wheel and Tire Upgrade
Part 2: Bumpers, Winch, Light, Steps, Rack, Storage Upgrade

As with all project trucks this truck is a work in progress. Moving forward we have big plans for this truck as it hits the trails, cruises the streets, and makes appearances at several truck events. Stay tuned for updates as we add graphics, additional lighting, performance upgrades and more!

BDS 3″ Performance COilover System for ’03-13 RAM HD Trucks

Coldwater, MI— February 20, 2015— BDS Suspension ups the ante with new 3″ performance coilover systems for 2003-2013 Dodge Ram 2500 and 2003-2012 Dodge Ram 3500 4wd diesel trucks adding to its current offerings of 6″ and 8″ performance coilover systems. Designed to offer the ultimate performance offroad this new system brings together specially tuned Fox factory-series 2.5 remote coilovers with BDS’s 3″ performance system for superior capability, ride quality, and high speed performance with room to clear 35″ tires.

The new ride height comes from a pair of specially engineered Fox 2.5 remote reservoir coilovers designed for the ultimate performance right out of the box. These Fox coilovers feature:

  • Smooth-bore and honed seamless alloy body
  • Black anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum mounting components
  • 7/8″ heat treated steel carbon shaft
  • High flow piston design with specially formulated race oil
  • 3″ Eibach coil preloaded for proper ride height
  • 2.5″ smooth bore and honed seamless reservoir
  • Bolt-on installation and easy adjustability (using #129600 spanner wrench)

These coilovers are built to perform on the front of Cummins-powered RAMs installing in place of the factory coil springs using BDS’s new heavy duty upper and lower mounting brackets. These brackets not only create a sturdy top mount at the frame with room for the reservoir, but also include weld-in reinforcements at the axle able to continually withstand whatever abuse your RAM HD is subjected to.

In addition to the coilovers new heavy duty tubular upper and lower control arms are supplied to reposition the front axle and adjust for proper caster and pinion angles. The arms feature durometer specific dual fluted polyurethane bushings for quiet, durable performance and easy servicing. To recenter the front axle laterally with the lift installed, BDS includes a new heavy duty adjustable track bar. The 1-3/8″ solid steel track bar is a huge improvement to the factory unit and features reinforced ends and a pinch bolt style turnbuckle for easy adjustment. New longer sway bar links are supplied to replace the failure prone factory stem style links to a eye-to-eye for increased strength and improved range of motion.

In the rear a small tapered 2″ block and new black e-coated u-bolts are used to level the stance and correct rear pinion angle. Rounding out this kit are a pair of Fox 2.0 performance IFP gas shocks for improved dampening capabilities.

SarasotaF250-13 Typically the story goes a guy (or gal) buys a new truck from the dealership and heads to their local accessory shop to get it outfitted to meet their needs and desires. A few manufacturer including BDS Suspension began including OE-compatible drivetrain warranties for peace of mind for those looking to lift newer vehicles and feared abandoning the factory warranties. Some dealers have caught on to this trend and began working with local shops to install a lift/wheels/tires on a few new trucks to add curb appeal and bring customers in. Down South they do things a little differently with new dealer lots filled with accessorized rides and Sarasota Ford is a prime example. Under the dealership’s 707 Performance accessory brand they have built a fleet of their new cars and trucks, built onsite offering show quality custom rides fully backed by the dealer warranty. From track ready Mustangs, to trail repped Super Duties this Sarasota, Florida based Ford dealership continues pumping out awesome builds ready for action and adventure much to the satisfaction of their customers that come from near and far.

When it came time to build a promotional truck for dealership, they needed something to use at events and spotlight some of 707 Performance’s capabilities. The team pulled out all the stops to build a one-of-a-kind truck that turns heads everywhere it goes. With access to the fleet of new Fords, they pulled a brand new 2015 Ford F250 Super Duty Lariat Diesel from the line and began this awe-inspiring transformation that continues to take shape today. Starting off with that color, the truck was wrapped with 3M matte copper vinyl and has tuxedo black painted accents that carry throughout the entire build. The lift came from BDS Suspension with a custom powdercoated 8” 4-Link Long Arm System (stretched to 10”) with adjustable front track bar and dual Fox shocks and stabilizers. This gave enough clearance for 40×15.50×22 Toyo M/T tires mounted up on custom painted 22×12 American Force Ambush wheels. The front end features a Royalty Core grille, Addictive Desert Designs honey badger bumper, Superwinch recovery winch and an assortment of amber, spot, and flood Rigid LED lights. The stock headlights were smoked temporary while they awaited a set of Plain-N-Simple custom units that were installed after the photoshoot. Up top a 54” Rigid RDS light bar was mounted for additional offroad lighting. Amp Research steps were used to make cab access a breeze. Out back the new bedsides accept a set of smoked Raptor tail lights and the bed received a color matched Line-X bed coating. A matching ADD honey badger bumper finished off the rear of this truck for extra protection and additional storage.

As big as this Super Duty is these days it’s a dream to drive around or ride along in. Inside the custom leather/suede seats is accented with diamond copper stitching and a matching suede headliner. Audio comes from a competition ready Sony sound system including subs, components, and amps. The auxiliary exterior lighting is wired up to the factory switches for a clean look and the factory gauges were colormatched to tie in the copper/black color scheme. Under the hood the factory 6.7L Power Stroke diesel has an Airaid intake installed and MBRP turndown exhaust system with a black 8” tip. This truck has come a long way from its humble beginning a few months ago. The team at Sarasota Ford has built it into an incredible calling card for the dealership to showcase their abilities. This truck will be used to promote over the next several months before going up for sale to do it all over again, next time with a different theme to catch your eye. Watch the build take shape on Sarasota Ford’s Facebook page, 707 Performance’s Instagram page, on BDS’s Facebook page and in person at Sarasota Ford.
