Just days away, Easter Jeep Safari is set to begin in Moab, Utah as thousands of Jeeps and 4WD vehicles converge on the peaceful town for a week full of 4wheeling excitement. With over 4 decades of history this event is known for beautiful scenery, amazing 4wheeling, and fun for the whole family. Hosted by the Red Rock 4-Wheelers Club this event brings together off-road enthusiasts, aftermarket manufacturers, OE manufactures, and media members for a full week of events out in the red rocks of Moab. The event starts April 1st and runs through easter Sunday, April 8th. In addition to the great 4wheeling that goes on during the week, there are a number of events that go on around town. Carolina Five-0 Lift Kit Install On the east coast of North Carolina stretches miles and miles of a beautiful beaches available to the general public and accessible to 4wd vehicles. Thousands flock down year round for great camping, fishing, surfing, and a little R&R each year. To navigate these public playgrounds and maintain the peace the Carolina Beach Police Department has enlisted the help of BDS Suspension to lift one of the patrol vehicles, a 2008 Ford F250 Super Duty.  4-Wheel & Off-Road Magazine’s Ali Mansour takes you through the buildup as this police truck gets outfitted with a BDS 6” 4-link suspension lift kit and 37” Dick Cepek wheels and tires. Check out the April 2012 issues of JP Magazine for a great install article titled “BDS Cherokee Chief Lift Kit: Full-Size Spring Surprise: FSJ+BDS=Kick Ass” by Magazine Editor Christian Hazel. Project Monkey Bus, a 1978 Jeep Cherokee Chief that has been fixed up over the past few months adding a mix of aftermarket parts and replacement parts to be deemed drivable. On the table for this article, Project Monkey Bus received a 4” BDS full spring lift kit and set of Mickey Thompson wheels/tires to replace the worn out and downright dangerous stock suspension. We love trolling the online forums, checking out project builds and offering up assistance when needed. We came across this cool CJ7 on GreatLakes4x4.com being built now with a BDS 4” leaf spring kit (#407H) and YJ spring conversion (#124021) and a variety of other parts. I you haven’t heard about Stubby over the past few months, here’s your chance to get the lowdown on this radical standard cab, short bed F350 that debuted at the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas in the BDS booth. As Ken Brubaker puts it “…in the BDS booth, only having Taylor Swift sign autographs would’ve probably generated more buzz.”  This 2001 F350 sports 8.5” of BDS suspension, Dual Fox 2.0s at all four corners, fiberglass fenders and 44” boggers. Stubby made the cover of the May issue of FourWheeler Magazine and has a great 4-page spread on the truck. Not many events and/or off-road clubs can say they are celebrating their 50th annual gathering. But this weekend, in the Ocotillo Wells SRVA in southern California the Tierra Del Sol 4WD Club out of San Diego will be doing just that, as the host the 50th Annual Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari. The event is scheduled for March 2-4 at the Ocotillo Wels SRVA, between Borrego Springs and Salton Sea. Over the years the vehicles have changed, people have come and gone, and the venue has moved. Now in its 50th year, the event is well organized with on site obstacle park and  trail rides, product demonstrations, on site vendor show, and one of the largest raffles of any off-road event.  Last year over $155,000 in raffle items were collectively given away.
