Jeep Beach 2014: Florida Fun
Following their week out in Moab, the BDS crew loaded up from Easter Jeep Safari and made the long haul to Daytona Beach for Jeep Beach. This being the 11th annual showing the Mid Florida Jeep Club has turned this into a must see event with 5 days of fun in sunny Florida as more than a thousand Jeeps converge on Daytona to party. Each year the event grows and this year we were once again impressed with ll the planing and preparations that went into place. The week starts off with scavenger hunt and party before the pre-show mixer and 2 day main event in the infield of the Daytona International Speedway. This family friendly event is filled with vendors, show-n-shine, obstacle course and more as Jeepers take to the speedway. V8 Project YJ | 4Wheel Drive Magazine
Phil Howell, editor-in-chief over at 4Wheel Drive & Sport Utility Magazine is nearing completion on one of his latest project rigs, an ’89 Jeep Wrangler YJ dubbed “Real Steel YJ”. Though no Jeep project is ever truly finished, the rig is prepped and Phil is ready to hit the trail. Roughly a year in the making, this YJ sports a healthy list of mods with a subtle exterior appearance. This resto-build began as a far cry from the original Jeep that rolled off the showroom floor with drivetrain missing, paint faded, rusty panels and a worn out interior. Today the rig sports a beefed up appearance and reliable drivetrain ready for trail use at a moments notice. Under the hood a MoTech aluminum block Chevy 5.3-liter V8 offers up increased horsepower while weighing in similar to the original 4.2L Inline-6. BDS hits the road for PA: PA Jeep Show this weekend!
The summer months are a popular time for events in the Northeast US. BDS is hitting the road once again in route to it’s 4th show in the past month, this time it’s the PA Jeeps All Breeds Jeep Show in York, PA. Hosted by the PA Jeep Club this event is now in it’s 17th year bringing enthusiasts together from around the country to celebrate all things Jeep. The show has grown to fill the fairgrounds exceeding 700+ Jeeps of all sizes, shapes, and eras and fun for the whole family. Events includes show-n-shine contest, off-road obstacle course, vendor show with show specials, swap meet, and more. BDS will be out at the event showing off some of our latest products, talking with customers and offering a number of show specials so stop by and see us. Adam’s Jeep Jam 2012 Recap
A few weekends back BDS Suspension made the trip out to Adam’s Jeep in Aberdeen, MD for the 10th Annual Adam’s Jeep Jam. Each year we’ve attended this event the attendance has continued to grow with over 300 Jeeps making it out for a day of festivities. Some of the highlights include the offroad obstacle course and mud pit, show-n-shine and a huge raffle. The always popular car crush pile was back again giving participants the ability to get their rigs and feel like monster truck drivers. BDS Rep Jeff Chatfield brought the BDS Dodge, BDS Ultimate Adventure TJ, and displays to set up in the vendor area and hung out all day talking to customers and answer questions. Off-Road Overhaul continues tonight with a YJ Buildup
Catch the The Outdoor Channel tonight (Monday, February 7th) for the newest episode of Off-Road Overhaul airing at 4:30pm, 7pm and 9:30pm (ET) as well as 1:30am on Tuesday (ET). Tonight host Mike Duval will take an ’89 Jeep Wrangler YJ in need of lots of attention and overhaul it with a lift kit, wheels, tires, bumpers, winch, performance mods and more. While in the shop, it will be outfitted with a BDS 4.5” Ultimate Suspension Lift Kit among other accessories before being tested out on an off-road adventure later in the show.
