2013-2014 Dodge Ram 1-ton 4WD – GAS

Coldwater, MI—May 28, 2014— BDS Suspension adds to its current RAM HD lineup with 5.5″ lift options for 2013-2014 RAM 3500 4wd gas engine trucks. Available and shipping out now, BDS offers both standard radius arm and 4-link conversion kits to improve the ride, performance and styling of your late model 1-ton RAM and with plenty of clearance for 37″ tires.

Up front, both the radius arm and 4-link systems utilize a pair of 5.5″ progressive rate ProRide coil springs for a great ride and improved performance across all terrains. Due to the unique design of the front spring mounts the coils are left/right side specific. A heavy duty track bar relocation bracket is used to recenter the front axle once lifted as well as a forged drop pitman arm to correct steering angles. Sway bar relocation brackets are used to reposition the front sway bar assembly and the supplied brake line brackets allow for the easy adjustment for the stock lines to be reused with the lift kit. The front driveline angle at 5.5″ of lift causes issues so the kit includes a new transmission crossmember, transfer case indexing ring and billet aluminum front driveshaft spacer to allow the use of the factory drivelines. Out back, the kits include a rear 4.5″ rear block and u-bolt kit for a level to slightly tail high stance along your choice of BDS-5500 or Fox 2.0 performance shocks at all four corners.

The similarities between the radius arm and 4-link conversion systems ends there. The radius arm kit uses a pair of 1/4″ thick steel radius arm relocation brackets to reposition the factory radius arms and correct suspension geometry and caster at 5.5″ of lift. These brackets key off the factory radius arm mount in addition to the frame rail for a stout mounting location for the radius arms.

The 4-link conversion upgrades the factory radius arms to a 4-link design. Benefits include improved stability, increased wheel travel, and better handling across all terrains. The 4-link design limits caster change to less than 1-degree of change throughout wheel travel for better handling, steering control, and overall driveability. Included are a pair of massive frame-mounted brackets precision welded and engineered to locate the new upper and lower control arms to create the optimal suspension geometry for late model RAM trucks. The 4-link brackets are fabricated from 1/4″ thick steel and wrap around the frame as well as the factory radius arm brackets to create an extremely sturdy mount for the new arms. Removal of the factory radius arm brackets is not required allow the brackets to stay intact to speed up the installation time and make these kits reversible. The upper and lower control arms are built from 2″ OD x 3/16″ wall DOM tubing for the strength to take any abuse you can throw at them. They utilize large 2.5″ OD polyurethane bushings to isolate road vibrations and are formed inward to allow for extra tire clearance while repositioning the front axle slightly forward for increase tire clearance to the backside of the front fenders. These arms are finished in a durable textured black powder coating and use grease fittings for easy servicing.

Available Accessories

BDS has a number of accessories available to fit the new 2013-2014 RAM 3500 trucks. Both single and dual steering stabilizer kit are available to meet your on-road and off-road performance needs. Available in 5500-series (white body), 9500-series (brushed stainless body) and Fox 2.0-series, the stabilizers improve drivability by reducing front end shimmy caused by oversized tires and mount above the tie-rod for extra protection when offroad. Stabilizers are available as both an OE replacement single stabilizer and dual kit mounting end-to-end.

BDS also offers a dual front shock hoop kit for a great look and increased dampening capablities. These hoops are fabricated from 1.75″ x.188″ DOM tubing and reinforced to mount 2 shock (5500-series or Fox 2.0).

BDS offers a heavy duty adjustable front track bar to allow you to dial in the the front axle positioning. Constructed from 1-3/8″ solid steel stock this new adjustable track bar is built to handle on and off-road abuse and uses a 1-3/8″-12 fine threaded pinch bolt design turnbuckle to allow easy tuning to properly recenter the front axle for a range of lift heights. The track bar is formed for proper clearance around critical front end components and features gusseted ends for additional rigidity. The ends utilize high-durometer polyurethane bushings with thick-walled steel sleeves for strength and reliability.

Lastly, BDS offers rear traction bar kits to fit the 2013-2014 Ram 3500 trucks. Designed to eliminate axle wrap and keep the rear axle planted during hard acceleration, BDS traction bars are constructed from 1-1/4″ OD tubing and are 100% bolt-on.

Now shipping, complete 6″ 4-link conversion systems for the 2013-2014 RAM 3500 4WD trucks designed to greatly improve the ride, control, and overall performance.

As with the widely popular BDS 4-link conversion for ’05-14 Ford Super Duty trucks, this kit converts the factory radius arm suspension to a true 4-link for increased stability, wheel travel, and improved handling across all terrains. The 4-link design limits caster change to less than 1-degree of change throughout wheel travel for better handling, steering control, and overall driveability. The heart of the system are a pair of massive frame-mounted brackets precision welded and engineered to locate the new upper and lower control arms to create the optimal suspension geometry for late model RAM trucks. With the redesigned front end of these trucks, the 6″ lift requires transmission/transfer case relocation components to allow the front driveshaft to function properly. BDS includes a new laser cut transmission crossmember and adjustable transmission mounting plate to increase clearance. The transfer case is repositioned by way of a supplied indexing ring kit to correct the operating angle of the front driveshaft. (indexing ring available for both 6-bolt and 8-bolt transmissions)

The rear of the truck is lifted via a 5″ block and u-bolt system which provides a level-to-slightly tail high stance. The kit includes your choice of BDS-5500 hydraulic or Fox 2.0 performance shocks to offer a great ride and improved dampening performance. Allowing 37″ tires to be installed, this new 6″ 4-link conversion system is designed to be complete and offer impressive on-road ride quality and off-road capability.

The coils have been engineered and tested to improve the ride quality and performance across all terrains while holding up to the rigors that 1-ton truck owners demand. Due to the unique factory coil mount design on the new radius arm equipped trucks, BDS has developed left and right side-specific coils to improve performance and eliminate coil bowing. Also up front, a heavy duty fabricated front track bar bracket to recenter the front axle as well as a forged drop pitman arm and black e-coated brake line relocation hardware are included to reposition all steering and brake components.

In the rear, a 2″ tapered block kit is used along with black e-coated u-bolts to level the stance and allow for up to 37″ tires. Your choice of vehicle specific BDS-5500 hydraulic or Fox 2.0 performance gas shocks are used at all 4 corners to improve dampening performance on the late model 2013 Ram 1-Tons.

In addition to the current suspension lifts and leveling kit options the engineers at BDS Suspension have developed new steering stabilizer kits as well as a heavy duty adjustable track bar to improve the performance of these late model RAM HD applications.

BDS offers single and dual steering stabilizers to meet your on-road and off-road performance needs. Available in both 5500-series (white body) and 9500-series (brushed stainless body) the stabilizers improve drivability by reducing front end shimmy caused by oversized tires. Stabilizers use a twin tube hydraulic design, with 5/8″ hardened chrome shaft and polyurethane bushings. BDS single stabilizer kits mount in place of the OE stabilizer for quick and easy installation to improve handling performance.

BDS dual steering stabilizers are available with your choice of 5500-series, 9500-series, or Fox 2.0 stabilizers all vastly improving the handling performance of late model Ram 2500/3500 trucks with oversized tires. These new dual stabilizer kits feature an end-to-end design built off of a 3/16″ thick axle mounted center bracket and pair of tie rod mounted outer brackets. The kit mounts above the tie rod for optimal ground clearance while keeping stabilizer out of harms way when off-road. 2013 Dodge Ram 1-ton 4WD

Coldwater, MI—October 13, 2013— BDS Suspension expands its product lineup with new suspension lift and accessory options for the redesigned 2013 Ram 3500 4WD trucks. The latest kit to hit the market is the BDS 4″ suspension lift. Lift is provided by new left and right side specific 4″ progressive rate Pro-Ride coil designed to fit the unique front coil mount design of the new Ram 3500 diesel trucks. These coils are engineered to improve ride quality across all terrains and hold up to any abuse you can throw at them.

Also included is a pair of 1/4″ steel radius arm relocation brackets to reposition the factory radius arms to correct suspension geometry at 4″ of lift. These brackets are designed for fast installation while increasing rigidity by tying into both the factory radius arm frame mount and the side of the frame rail.

In addition to the progressive coils and radius arm brackets, the kit includes a heavy duty front track bar bracket to reposition the front axle, a forged drop pitman arm to correct steering angles, brake line relocation, extended polyurethane bump stops, rear 2″ tapered block kit with black e-coated u-bolts, complete hardware pack, and your choice of BDS-5500 or Fox 2.0 shocks.

This 4″ kit is designed to level the stance and allow clearance for up to 37″ tires to be installed.

Accessories for the 2013 Dodge Ram 1-Ton 4WD

BDS is also releasing a number of accessories for the 2013 Ram 3500 trucks to include a heavy duty adjustable front track bar and new steering stabilizers. The track bar is constructed from 1-3/8″ solid steel stock, with heavy durometer polyurethane bushings and fine thread pinch bolt design turnbuckle for strength and adjustability to center the front axle. Steering stabilizers are an upgrade to the OEM stabilizer shock and available in both white and brushed metal finishes.
