King of the Hammers 2019
The BDS team arrived in Hammertown a full week before the EMC race at King of the Hammers. A week might seem like a long time, but to prepare for this race takes months, and that last week is when the course maps are finally made public, creating a scramble to pre-run as much of the course as possible, all while tuning the truck for top performance based on the different sections of track that are being used each year. Team 4502, led by driver Kevin Sterns, had yet to finish the worlds hardest off road race, so the strategy this year was just that. Finish the damn thing! BDS Athlete Takes on 2019 Spartan Race Series
?? BDS-sponsored athlete and company videographer Nate Smith has been on a long road of recovery. The once Jr. Olympic soccer player suffered a fall in 2012 that left him partially paralyzed with doctors painting a grim look on his recovery to one day be able to walk again. Not accepting the diagnosis, Nate fought hard through PT and in 2016 had the approval of his doctors to start training again. With that green light he began strength and conditioning training working out 10-15 time per week year round to better himself and surpass his pre-injury goals. Nate met a milestone competed (and completing) the RedBull 400 in 2018, the world’s hardest 400m uphill race on his first competition back since his injury finishing in 36th place overall. May 2019 brings the first ever Four Wheeler Overland Adventure! This event will start in Wickenburg, Arizona on May 13, 2019 and will fill three days with off-roading, camping, and Arizona’s stunning scenery. A professional guide has crafted the route to include a variety of terrain for any level of skill and overlanding vehicle sizes. King of The Hammers is one of those races that hits the mark when it comes to pushing systems to their max.
