What a year at SEMA… Record numbers, tons of new interest and a killer presence around the show, without a doubt one of our best years yet! This year marked our 5th year exhibiting at the SEMA looking back its amazing to see how far we’ve come since the company was founded 18 years ago. This year we teamed up with the other divisions of Sport Truck USA Inc (Zone Offroad Products, JKS Manufacturing, and Posi-Lok) to showcase new products and make some big announcements. The 25×80 booth space was transformed into a bar setting as we welcomed industry professionals, current dealers, and the media in for an ice cold beer and a casual conversation. We debuted a killer 2013 Ram 3500 sporting the BDS 8” 4-Link Conversion as well as the Project KJ, our Ultimate Adventure tested ’05 Liberty CRD. Needless to say, the booth went over well, the…

If you’re into customizing your 4×4, chances are you’ve heard of Ian Johnson and Xtreme 4×4. He’s built all kinds of cool 4x4s from toy hauling trucks to tube buggy rigs and offers up great tech and how-to knowledge for those of us who like to hit the road (or trail) less traveled. His most recent project took a wrecked Jeep Wrangler JK (2Dr) with a Hemi swap that he bought on the cheap and overhauled it into a Hot Rod Jeep full of off-road capability and killer styling. When we heard about the project we jumped at the chance to get involved. After discussing Ian’s needs and goals for the project, we knew he was looking for a bulletproof kit that would be up to the off-road abuse while still riding great on the road. While a fabricator kit is within Ian’s realm, he wanted this project to speak to…

Phil Howell, editor-in-chief over at 4Wheel Drive & Sport Utility Magazine is nearing completion on one of his latest project rigs, an ’89 Jeep Wrangler YJ dubbed “Real Steel YJ”. Though no Jeep project is ever truly finished, the rig is prepped and Phil is ready to hit the trail. Roughly a year in the making, this YJ sports a healthy list of mods with a subtle exterior appearance. This resto-build began as a far cry from the original Jeep that rolled off the showroom floor with drivetrain missing, paint faded, rusty panels and a worn out interior. Today the rig sports a beefed up appearance and reliable drivetrain ready for trail use at a moments notice. Under the hood a MoTech aluminum block Chevy 5.3-liter V8 offers up increased horsepower while weighing in similar to the original 4.2L Inline-6. The transmission was swapped for a 6L80 6-speed automatic, while…

The Jeep nation was strong this past weekend as 700+ Jeeps converged on York, Pennsylvania for the 18th Annual All Breeds Jeep Show. This annual event hosted by the PA Jeeps Club totes an assortment of Jeep vehicles from early Willys and restored classics, daily drivers and diesel-powered JKs. The 2-day show started Saturday morning and ran through Sunday late afternoon with numerous events to keep the whole family entertained. Many came and filled the fairgrounds to show off their Jeeps, while others came looking for a deal on some hard to find parts at the swap meet. RC Jeeps and rock piles popped up throughout the grounds while many put their Jeeps to the test by taking on the onsite obstacle course set up and managed by Rausch Creek Offroad Park staff. As always vendors arrived in droves to to talk to customers and show off new products. Carter…
